Football Ticket Prices?

Can anyone break down the cost of ticketes this season for faculty, staff and student?

I know the public price was raised to $57, but am unable to find the other categories.

It was like that last year too. You could buy the tickets for the B10 game as a package and buy the other games seperately. This makes sense. There is no school during those games, ergo many students(myself included) would not be able to go. Making games students can't attend part of the student ticket package--that's the worst idea ever.

BTW, if you go to hangonsloopy.com and read the 2004 ticket policy for students, there is nothing about they "may open it up for students in August". It simply says that "Students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets...in late August." No "may". "Will".

last year you were able to buy them, this year you can't last year it was an option to buy each one individually, this year you cant

This year there are not as many home games... the various alumni clubs allow alumni the opportunity to buy tickets... the ooc games might go to alumni instead of the students, to fulfill the alumni allotment... as a student you should be happy that when you are an alum they will let you have access to tickets... this will also raise alot more $$ for the university (selling tickets for twice the price to alum instead of students)...

This might not be the reason for the wait... however I bet it is (the summer is prob. the deadline for alum to sign up for a game... those tickets left over will prob. go to the students)...

I can't in good conscience condone any of the monetary values The Ohio State University applies to any of its many attractions, even if they "discount" student and alumni tickets off the "regular retail price." I think $108.00 is too much for a student ticket. *shrug* Just my biased opinion. Oughtta be about $10 per game. But then, I'm a poor muh'fucka.

tOSU is not now, nor will it ever be strapped for cash. They are a "non-profit" organization, and therefore are required to expend as much money as they take in - hence all of the completely unnecessary renovations to various halls and the upcoming raping of the Oval in the middle of spring quarter. I'm not an econ major or anything, but I am quite sure that they could afford to charge less than $20 per game for student tickets. Again, I'm biased. I'm a student. Naturally, I feel I'm being cheated. Tuition and student health insurance goes up every single quarter. As for the 'profitable turn-around', student tickets come on a single card, into which holes are punched for each corresponding game. Additionally, I have found that nearly all of the ticket-takers at the gates will ID for student tickets. The name is printed right on it. Easy as pie to check, hard as hell to sell.

I also want to say that when I was able to afford season tickets (two years ago, as it were), I showed up at every game I was allowed - including San Jose St. and IU - and returned home with little to no voice. I feel that if the powers that be found it in themselves to cut the prices just a smidge, they would be rewarded with a far more rabid, enthusiastic and effective fanbase of students like myself.

Cost for a season ticket is $108 which includes the following games:
Oct. 9 - Wisconsin
Oct. 23 - Indiana
Oct. 30 - Penn State
Nov. 20 - Michigan

I'm going to assume that you missed my above post about the $350 million that OSU owes for the stadium renovation...
