What's amazing is that this whole tree thing was such a small deal in the Bay Area. No one cared. I went to some Cal games last season, and you have to walk past the trees when approaching the stadium from town and lower campus, and there were some signs, and tables and you could see the stuff up in these trees, but that was it. No one stopped, no one was protesting one way or another. It just didn't matter. Seems like people outside of the area like to make a really big deal about this, but this was just Berkeley being Berkeley.

UC Berkeley estimates it spent more than $800,000 on police and other security measures during the 22 months sitters were up in the trees.

Sounds like the tree-sitters aren't the ones who are stupid...
