TSUN up on UCLA by 3, 1:30 left

Compared to what UCLA was supposed to be, they should be. They just got destroyed by Pitt, barely beat Weber State, and were a 500 team virtually all season last year.

They Redhawks always play a tough OOC which prevents them getting a gawdy record. They beat Xavier (Elite 8), South Alabama (NCAAs), Illinois on the road, Mississippi State at a neutral site and lost at Louisville by 3. They finished 97 in the RPI last year and no top 100 RPI team is terrible. Terrible is a MEAC/SWAC/Patriot/Big South bottom feeder.

Calm down, my Buckeye brethren.

He was talking strictly hoops here.

Oh sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant a few games in conference play. Spots 1-4 are locked down, but if we win a few against the other middle of the pack teams, we can get to around the 5-7 area and hopefully the NIT.

I'm hoping the Big Ten gets past the point that 1-4 are in, and 5-7 may be NIT bound. That sounds really bad when you think about it.

If scUM is in that 5-7 range, and deserve a NCAA bid, I will be right here beside you on selection Sunday saying the same thing. When you take helmets and grass out of the equation, scUM actually sucks a hair (a small hair) less.

I would think this win over UCLA is enough to forecast a 5-7th conference finish at worst. I like your top 4 for sure.

They were athletic and quick last year and gave us some problems. If their shooting and defense improves they could pull a few upsets this season. I'm just hoping our middle and lower pack teams pull their weight against the ACC this season and we get a few wins. That stuffs pretty damned embarassing.

Yay finally some good news to prepare us for Saturday!

The 1-3-1 D gave their young team fits and we made a few shots near the end when it mattered. I still see us around a 15-16 win team, but hopefully this could boost their confidence and we can win a couple more games we shouldn't be winning..
Actually, hopefully we can turn those games we shouldn't win into games we should. The one I really want is Maryland.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and make a prediction. Michigan wins 55-52. I know I'm taking a real shot in the dark here, but I'm really hoping I'm right.
Man...I like your prediction...it could happen...but this is the longest time out ever. Maybe each team is so scared to in bound the ball, that they keep trading off 5 second violations.

In either case, this has to be the longest game in NCAA history. Michigan goes down in the record books both in basketball and football this year. Basketball for longest game ever, and football for worst season in school history, and longest losing streak to Ohio State. Congrats to them. On the bright side it could be worse...Michigan could be Notr...eh wait, they had a better season, they could be Syrac...oh...hmmm they actually won a big game, well they could be Tole...oh wait, they beat Michigan...eh forget it, even Washington State is more excited about their season right now than Michigan. Yay Apple Cup!!!
