Hardaway, Morris, and Morgan look pretty good to me. I have also heard great things about Trey Burke.
Eh, there were high expectations last year too...and next year's team looks like it might have a similar makeup. Hardaway is similar to Manny Harris in many ways, Morgan is similar to DeShawn Sims. The advantage is that Morris ("The Butterfly" :slappy:) gives them a legit PG if he doesn't go pro. But, you lose a lot of leadership in Novak and Douglass and I don't know if Horford on Christian have the bodies to help with interior defense which is horrific this year. They should be better on paper, but the '09-'10 team was supposed to as well and tanked badly.

Nice game vs. Wisconsin today - I particularly liked the part where they left Gasser wide-open to bank in a last-second 3-pointer to lose the game by 1. Stu Douglass specializes in letting opponents shoot the winning 3 over him.

Douglas doubled Taylor by design, it wasn't his fault. The worse defense by TSUN on the last play was by Morris, who had his back turned to the ball when the pass was made, so he couldn't rotate. He was in no man's land between the lucky shooter and Nankavil in the corner.

Not nearly as enjoyable as the camera shot on Hardaway after Gasser made the shot. Am I supposed to feel sorry for a guy who acts like he's won an NBA Championship every time he scores a point?

. UW shoots 36.2% (and a woeful 27.6% from 3-point range), the game's at UM, and UM still finds a way to lose.

Had they won that game, they would be 18-11 overall and 8-8 in conference. Plus, they would have had a big win on their resume (something they still don't have). You'd think that win may have put them in the tournament, so long as they could have split with two winnable games at Minnesota and at home against Michigan St. Now, I'd think they need to win both of those and win at least two games in the BTT.

Talk about squandering an opportunity.

after sleeping on it, yes, it was a shame to lose. But I also didn't have many expectations from this team this year. For being one of the youngest teams in the nation, they have been frustrating at times, as well as pleasantly surprising at times too. Assuming everybody comes back next year (I've read where Morris could be projected as a top 30 pick), this team could make some noise next season after a year of growth and maturity.

they will still have problems with the elite teams though until they can recruit another big man. NIT bound for sure, and if anything, that's an oppurtunity for a few more practices.

Morris has a good ability to beat his man one-on-one and get to the hoop, although his ability to finish is questionable. And his jumpshot is dreadful. If I were the coach of an opposing team, I would tell the player defending him to give him plenty of room to keep him from driving and to make him take jumpshots. Guaranteed he would finish the game 4-15 from the field. The fact that he's even considering jumping to the NBA is, to put it mildly, surprising.

On one hand, it's really pretty impressive that they stayed so close to Wiscy, and really should have won.

On the other (better) hand, it was fun to see fail in them rise up a choke out a victory. Well done Michigan. Well done.
