I don't think you're understanding this guy's points (unless you mean, as he does, the people he is quoting). He is refuting the rumors and bringing up valid reasons why they're bullshit (like we are doing here). OSU had a higher APR than dUMb last year - fact. If you are "joining" him by ridiculing those who he is refuting, my apologies.

I agree.

They went into last years game believing - and got whipped. That was a low point - they thought. They were despondent and the way this season started were ready for another beat down. But they still had it in them to get fired up once things "turned" in the 2nd half against PSU. They were so ready to celebrate the second coming of 1969. When they went from that hope to an even worse loss than last year it cut to their very soul. It has taken something out of them that they needed to be party of this rivalry.

I can't stay away from their boards because it is such a sea of sadness. There are excuses. But there is little hope. They are redefining what Michigan football even means in a way that is designed to remove all meaning from losing to OSU.

It is glorious.

But we may have missed something here. Without Michigan as a rival - who are we?

lv, it's almost like you crawled into my mind and scraped this from the darkest recesses. I was pacing the floor until 41-27 last week. I do have PTSD from Cooper. But even then, he's done better than those three "Michigan Men"

Let's assume that Ohio State and Michigan stay at their same respective levels for the foreseeable future (no RichRod/Hoke/Fickell years).

Here are the win totals for each school during the Harbaugh Era:

2015: Ohio State 12; Michigan 10
2016: Ohio State 11; Michigan 10
2017: Ohio State 12; Michigan 8
2018: Ohio State 13; Michigan 10
2019: Ohio State 12; Michigan 9

Over the past five seasons (with 2019 postseason still pending), Ohio State has 13 more wins than Michigan, for an average of 2.6 per season. At that rate, Ohio State catches Michigan in 15 seasons, and surpasses them sometime during the 2035 season.

EDIT: If Ohio State wins out on 2019 and Michigan loses its bowl game, then you can take one year off of that timeline.

Ohio State is still the elite to Penn State’s not elite, so there’s that.

We love to say they are broken, but as your post illustrates, it is never permanent. All they need is a brief win streak against 3 or 4 average teams for them to be salivating over a potential win against the Bucks. These guys are never permanently broken, only temporarily wounded. I implore our fanbase never to let up on these fuckers. Never let up on these pricks. EVER.

Whenever scUM wants to say Ohio State isn’t their rival, that it’s Sparty, or whenever they want to say they don’t care as much about the rivalry as we do...
