Not really related, but sort of related.
As of the 62-39 game, M*ch*gan is now enjoying their all-time record for consecutive seasons without a conference championship. They are now up to 14 consecutive seasons without a championship. Their previous record (13) started in 1951 and ended when they won the championship in 1964.

How do I figure this is related? When I first started looking into this, I posted that Chicago won the conference championship in 1924, and then went 22 consecutive seasons without a championship, and then they quit. Someone here posted that hopefully we can keep M*ch*gan off the board until they quit the sport. Maybe just 8 more years?

By the way, Ohio State's longest stretch was from 1921, and ended when they won the championship 1935. 14 seasons. Since then, they've never gone more than 6 seasons without a championship.

Oddly enough, the worst streak any team has ever been on is 51 seasons, currently tied by Indiana and Minnesota. They tied for the championship in 1967. Purdue tied them, too. Purdue has only won one championship since 1967 (2000). Did someone put a Boston Red Sox-type curse on those three teams? 51 seasons and only 1 conference championship to go around between the three teams? Seems like voodoo or something to me.

Wait - Northwestern had a 58-season drought, ending in 1995. I'm confident that both Indiana and Minnesota will break that record, though.

"Good evening. Tonight is indeed a unique occasion in the history of television. We are very privileged, and deeply honored to have with us in the studio, Karl Marx, founder of modern socialism, and author of the 'Communist Manifesto'. Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov, better known to the world as Lenin, leader of the Russian Revolution, writer, statesman, and father of modern communism.
Che Guevara, the Cuban guerrilla leader. And Mao Tse-tung, leader of the Chinese Communist Party since 1949.

And the first question is for you, Karl Marx. The Hammers - the Hammers is the nickname of what English football team? 'the Hammers? No? Well bad luck there, Karl. So we'll go onto you Che. Che Guevara - Coventry City last won the FA Cup in what year? No? I'll throw it open. Coventry City last won the FA Cup in what year? No? Well, I'm not surprised you didn't get that. It was in fact a trick question. Coventry City have never won the FA Cup."

44 - 63 to Texas Tech, isn’t that the basketball equivalent to losing to Appy State?
Actually, TTU is pretty damn good this year. This will be the second straight light Eight appearance after never having gone before. Still, the way they beat the shits out of scUM put a big smile on my face.

It was a season crushing ass whooping from a team wearing red.

All that matters

Could have been better. Take away that back-heel 3 on their last possession and one other bucket, and take away one TTech free throw and the score would have been 62-39.

MICHIGAN ASSISTANT CHRIS PARTRIDGE IS BITTER ABOUT GREG MATTISON AND AL WASHINGTON LEAVING FOR OHIO STATE, SAYS HE THINKS ABOUT LAST SEASON'S LOSS EVERY DAY

There's still almost eight months until next season's game, but it's pretty clear that bitterness is going to fester until the Buckeyes make the trip to Ann Arbor, and the Wolverines will have revenge on their minds. (i.e. the "revenge tour II".....:slappy:)
