Tyjon Lindsey (WR Nebraska Cornhuskers, transfer to Oregon St.)

Poor Great Britain.

First breath: We all know he's going to OSU...

Second breath: Waaaahhhhh! Zach Smith is spoiling Lindsey's announcement!

Now if Coach Williams tweeted from the drunk tank that Lindsey was going to Great Britain, THAT would be spoiling his announcement. Nobody thinks he's going there.

Without knowing the circumstances, I am inclined to agree, especially with how important social media has become to most teens. Even if Tyjon knew Smith was going to tweet that beforehand and was cool with it, the mere perception that the coach stole his thunder could have potential negative effects on other recruits. Wish the man was a bit less trigger happy on twitter, but I guess we're supposed to trust that he knows what he's doing. I doubt that any other coach on the staff would make such a tweet.

Lindsey wasn't mentioned by name. Coach Smith tweeted that it was Christmas Eve and that he loves Christmas. That COULD mean anything but the #PBR #GBR movement knows the writing is on the wall and the mere fact that everybody knows what that tweet means pretty much shows that the cat has been let out of the bag long before Coach Smith put out a kryptic tweet. Coach Smith could be wrong or could be talking about something else. We know that isn't the case, though. Lindsey hasn't announced yet so we'll see if Smith was right and/or how much it really matters. Methinks Britain is just a little salty. Tyjon has been called a HEAVY Buckeye lean for so long that I fail to see how even Lindsey himself doesn't know that everybody else already knows.

I hear you, but we all know what Smith was referring to. Most of us also realize how much the vast majority of teens value their moment in the spotlight. I'm not up in arms about it; just wish Coach would look up the word "tact" in Webster's.
Agree 100%. Be patient and shut your mouth, or thumbs I guess in this case. Let the kid tell everyone where he is going.

No, it couldn't. Nobody is going to choose another school because a coach excitedly tweeted about their choice the day before.

The bellyaching about Zach Smith's twitter usage is really old at this point. Every single time he tweets something, somebody says it's potentially harmful and it hasn't done any harm so far. He's arguably the top recruiter on the staff and his twitter usage is a part of that.
