Tyrone Prothro: End of the Line?

This is very sad - Protho was a very exciting young player (remember his ESPY-caliber catch behind the CB??). That photo of his leg snapping was the most disgusting thing I've seen in sports since the Krumrie incident in the Super Bowl...

He sure did - he caught it and his knee fell to the ground.

As soon as that happens he could throw it to the stands and it would still be a catch.

Looked to me like they should have marked it down at the 1.

Not that it really matters, but one of the posters on Youtube claimed that he was indeed marked down on the 1 1/2 yard line and the next play Croyle threw a TD pass. Don't remember the play well enough to confirm this?

Almond added a 37-yard scoring pass to Perine to put the Golden Eagles up 21-10. But Alabama started coming back on an amazing catch and controversial call right before halftime.

With the Tide offense misfiring, Croyle lofted a deep pass to Prothro, who caught the ball behind Faulk's back and fell into the end zone. Officials initially signaled a touchdown, but the Tide got the ball at the 1 after a review, and Le'Ron McClain caught a 1-yard pass from Croyle for the score.
