Tyson Gentry (Official Thread)

From the Spring Preview at the WHAC.

bucknuts

Tressel on the progress of walk-on Tyson Gentry, who suffered a neck injury a year ago in spring practice ? ?It has been almost a year since that injury. Tyson is progressing. He is still a member of our football family. He is helping Coach Hazell and Coach Peterson with the receivers and tight ends. He is working hard on his recuperation. He has tremendous support from his family. His sister Ashley just graduated from Capital. She is giving of herself to help him. He is coming along, but please continue to raise him in your prayers.?

When this kicked off, I was praying for $4K ... and now we are only $4K away from the entire thing.

I'm amazed by you folks!! PLEASE keep it going!!

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I have exciting news … YOU DID IT!!!

A lady in heard about the fund raiser we’ve been doing for Tyson Gentry to get him the restorative therapy bicycle, a $15K item. She walked into the bank last week and dropped a $8,000 check into the coffers and that put us over the $15,000 hump.

In fact, I totaled up everything we have in addition to that, and we are now at a whopping $20,452.33 on hand (or in the bank). The leftover money after getting the bike will remain in his trust fund for use in his recovery as needed.

Bob Gentry (Tyson’s dad) said in an e-mail to me: “So now all we have to do is get through the red tape and acquire the bike.”

As promised last week, I will send into the bank ALL the money I have received on Friday (registered and insured). If there are any stragglers, no worries. I will send more to the bank as I receive it.

I told folks when I started this that I expected $2K. I was hoping for $3K and $4K was the highest I ever thought it would get. But you folks rallied around Tyson and it’s more than impressive. It makes you feel good about people.

Congratulations BuckeyeNation.

You are the reason that it’s great to be a Buckeye.
