U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Still rumors of the Mexico qualifier in Spetember being in Columbus?

It's not really a rumor, but also hasn't been officially announced.

Every home WC qualifier against Mexico has been at Crew Stadium since 2001 (2002 World Cup Qualification). The U.S. are 3-0 with a 6-0 goal differential (three 2-0 wins).

Don't screw with a streak.

I don't like to see this, especially before the two upcoming qualifiers.

Klinsmann faces questions of leadership

As the United States heads into critical World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico, several players are expressing concern and asking questions about coach Jurgen Klinsmann's leadership skills and whether he is fit for the U.S. national team's top job, the Sporting News reported on its website Tuesday.
Eleven players in the current national team pool as well as others connected to the program told the Sporting News that there are deep divisions within the squad, especially between the German-American players Klinsmann has brought in, and those with deeper domestic roots. More troubling for U.S. team followers, the faith in Klinsmann's methods and tactical acumen is rapidly eroding....continued

We are very fortunate to have Guzan as a backup GK. That dude is absolutely adored by Aston Villa fans. And rightfully so. That guy is more battle tested than any GK in the world (LOL). Mainly, because of how pisspoor AV's defense is.

Before Howard's injury, these 2 (Guzan and Howard) were neck and neck form-wise. I won't, for one, say either is better than the other.

Bored media members are speaking postponing the game due to the snow, but it's snowing Sunday too (in Colorado), so it's pointless.

Good thing for me, there isn't a "Bottom Line" ticker on TruTV, so I can watch the Minnesota game freely without knowing the outcome of the U.S. game (and can DVR later).
