U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Diskerud with the fifth. There were about 15 minutes in the middle of the game where El Salvador changed the tactics and looked like they could pull even or do more. If you throw that out though, this score line is thoroughly deserved.

Thought Beckerman had a great game, I felt like he was the person making the first impactful touch on most of our scoring chances.

Agree. And he gets a lot of flack for his play, but he transitions defense to offense. He's a lot like Aaron Craft for soccer; sound defensively, not great in terms of scoring, but his passing is really good.

This should be fun Wednesday.

Anyone carrying a knock or coming off a long-term injury (like Holden) should be evaluated, because the surface is either going to be mushy or hard.

Billion-dollar stadium with 10 cent temp grass.

It is disgraceful that the field would be this bad when they have known for quite some time these matches would be played here. It's not like this is the middle of the NFL season and they've had to put the field together overnight.

Hopefully everyone participating gets through without any serious injuries. And, hopefully the field plays true in an event of this magnitude. It would be a crime otherwise...

Always with temp grass, if someone stomps really hard (steps real hard), the seam is going to go up (the grass seam will look rolled).

That's when injuries occur.

I'm happy Klinsmann is making a fuss about the grass, because someone needs to.

Ultimately it's on CONCACAF (and the USSF in other competitions on our soil) to demand better or arrange for better. This isn't the first time the US has played on a third-world pitch in a home match, and it's pathetic that the powers that be are willing to settle for that in order to play in certain markets of get butts in more seats.
