Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

At the weekly press conference yesterday, he was asked if he thought the team was improving.

Before we discuss his answer to the question, ask yourself how you would answer if you were only allowed one word. Many of you have already made your opinion known, and without exception you’ve said that the most recent game showed regression, not improvement. Most who commented named this fact as the primary source of frustration.

Given how obvious it is that there did not appear to be general improvement from game 6 to game 7, and taking into consideration how much more frustrated Urban must be with this than we are; consider his answer.

He cited a bunch of players, by name, as having shown recent improvement.

None of the named players were starters.
None of the named players were upperclassmen.

Now consider that Gerry Dinardo (admittedly 5% of the coach that Meyer is) recently said on BTN that “all” coaches use the weekly press conference to talk to different groups, regardless what the reporter asked. One of the groups that coaches talk to most frequently by way of the weekly press conference, is the players.

So was Meyer just answering the question?

Or was there a message in there for the players?

Can't remember the specific question, but he definitely was throwing shade at Wint and rest of safety group by responding that Pryor sat out 1st half vs Indy. The reporter was asking about the defense, but it was quite the leap for UFM to take it directly to that response.

Meyer would not admit it in a million years, but I think it is glaringly obvious that he was basically telling his starters, "we have players that are not starting... yet... that are getting a lot better. get off your collective asses or get passed on the depth chart."

As usual, I took something that was probably intuitively obvious to most of you and made a weak case of it by spelling it out in tedious detail.

Everyone needs a hobby...

Swollen face? He ran into a sideline coach during the Indiana game and was knocked down. Could well be the reason.

No. He had a bad moment due to the arachnoid cyst he has had since birth and will have until the day he dies. It is easily managed and it has not stopped him from winning 3 NCs and building the machine that is Ohio State football.

He's just trying to fuck recruiting....

Exactly. That also is the reason for the false stories and innuendo at the beginning of the year.

The more likely outcome is that Finebaum experiences his own health challenges and exits broadcasting. It is sad to watch, but it is impossible to pull a man's head out if his arse if he doesn't want it removed. Even an eyerectomy operation is of no use.

Pawwwl couldn’t hide his disdain for UFM when August was happening, he was dripping with it. Urban committed the most unpardonable of sins...he left the SEC and then coached somewhere else. Paul doesn’t give a shit about abused women or he would have demanded something be done about Peyton bouncing his nuts off a woman’s face.

Or that Saban be fired for recruiting a proven abuser who turned around and abused a Bama girl.
No innuendo, he said/she said, fake calls to the cops, editing tweets ... straight up recruited a dude on trial, kept him after the guilty verdict, and he did it again.
