This kid reminds me of kids OSU has recruited in previous years...no way he was ever going to OSU, he knows exactly where he is going,,,just loves the pub, you can get lots of hype by keeping 2-3 schools in an ever changing order...a prime example is Rouse. He knows he is going to FSU but he is keeping Texas and Miami up there to enjoy all the hype.

OSU recruitniks should give up on WA and Gwaltney and Thomas, it ain't happening...

I think with all the negative publicity and Tres' penchant for not closing hard, we are all going to be let down again on most of the blue chips left. I am hoping we still get Worthington and McCoy and MW...that's it. Throw in 3 suspect/low rated players as well. Biggers will be nothing more than a special teams player if he goes to OSU I predict.
I know we got some bad news man, but dang don't give up hope. You never know, some of these kids really are confused and with people pumping their heads with all these allegations, hopefully they can see through it.

I for one really hope Walker Ashley comes to play for the bucks, but I didnt think he still liked USC and we were fighting it out with PSU, but heck what do I know. From watching recruiting pan out over the past couple years, the only thing I don't like is the fact that these kids are waiting all the way till signing day. I really hate that why can't they just get it over with a little beforehand so the coaches will have a chance to go in another direction.

Don't be surprised if both Walker Ashley and Jason Gwaltney end up USC Trojans. When you're hot, you're hot. Pete Carroll is quickly becoming a legendary recruiter. He's certainly getting the best of JT in head-to-head matchups. Consider these recent recruits:

Dwayne Jarrett- USC from New Jersey
Fred Davis- USC from Ohio
Jeff Byers- USC from Colorado
Mark Sanchez- USC from Cali
Teddy Ginn- OSU from Ohio
Walker Ashley?
Jason Gwaltney?

P.S. I don't believe Maurice Wells counts if he ends up at OSU b/c he himself added that the reason USC slipped is that they stopped contacting him.

That's a depressing list. JT seems to lose alot of matchups with other schools when it comes to OOS recruits. USC has already been recruiting great. Now with anothe NC, they will use this to their advantage. Something we haven't done.

Before some of you get upset with that statement, What I mean is that OSU has always recruited well, the NC didn't help them recruit much better.
USC has been getting top 3 classes, and probably will again this year.
It almost seems like they have so many guys wanting to come there, that they can pick, and choose.

First of all, those aren't "head-to-head" matchups...there were tons of other schools recruiting all these kids. Second, Jarrett is only one of the three from last year's class that is even making an impact, and Ginn has proved to be the best of the four from that class...has Jarrett been mentioned as a Heisman candidate yet? The fact that we even were #2 on the list of California's top QB is a testament to Tressel's recruiting ability. Face it, USC is an opposing recruiter's nightmare...a glamor school in a glamor location with the best team in the country and a charismatic coach who will promise you the world to come play for him. The only thing that will change that is for USC to get beat big on national TV...

I'll bet UCLA is wishing they had hired Chow. What a perfect fit. Carl Dorrell or whatever his name is ain't gonna cut it. They should be crucified for not hiring Chow. SC will get the pick of the litter in SoCal so long as UCLA is so weak.. OSU should recruit harder in Cali IMO...
