I noticed a lot of people with these cool pictures of their favourite sports team and charities that they support, and when I went to look into how to get them I noticed you have to be in a user group to do so.

So my question is, what are the requirements to join a user group?

The icons and ribbons aren't available due to security concerns. User groups can be joined by clicking on your user CP, then clicking on group memberships to the left of the screen.

They were part of a feature called the "vbplaza". There was something funky going on with it. You could use your vcash to purchase all kinds of stuff in the vbplaza. No vbplaza, no icons or gifts. I hope that explains it better. There's a thread about it somewhere. Try searching for vbplaza or something.
