Veteran's Day - Thank You!

Veteran's Day has taken on a new meaning for me this year, as my brother is 8 months into his deployment to Iraq. Sometimes, though it shouldn't, we don't truly understand the sacrifices that others have made until it becomes more personal. Regardless of political views, let's not forget that these are fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, relatives and friends, or just fellow Americans, who are putting their lives on the line, not only in Iraq, but around the world. So tomorrow, when we have our feet up on the couch, cold beverage in hand, watching the Bucks kick some ass, say a little thank you to those who have served, are currently serving, and are planning to serve. Thanks to all vets.

We used to get it off about 2-3 years ago. They used this lame ass excuse of how they give us school today and give us a longer break for Thanksgiving and we get off early on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. Which is a lie since that Wednesday before Thanksgiving it is a day they call parent-teacher conference day, but they do the conferences another day so nobody has to come.
