Scout Free via Detroit News--Taco Looking Past Boyhood Love for OSU

One-time OSU fan Taco Charlton now a top U-M recruit

A few short years ago, the mere thought of attending a school other than Ohio State was inconceivable to Pickerington (Ohio) Central star Taco Charlton. But now that the 6-foot-7, 245-pound defensive end is one of the top junior prospects in the country, his outlook on his college future has changed quite a bit.
"When I was a little kid, where I grew up people were Ohio State fans, so I was always feeling that," Charlton said. "But when I started looking for schools to go with, I figured it really wasn't about my favorite school, it was about what fit me best as a player."
When one possesses the size/speed combo that Charlton does, there are few schools that don't fit. This season he was an intimidating presence on a team that went on a memorable playoff run that ended in a 34-13 loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius in the Division I state championship game.
