Well, like I said... call it a bad habit then.. It doesn't make me much difference either way, I'm simply saying "Addiction" appears to me to be an appropriate word for whatever this Video Game thing is.

I guess we just differ on what the word connotes as "excuse making" goes.

You've clearly never had it thrown at you as a pathetic justification for someone's behavior with the attitude that you shouldn't be pissed, since the choicees were beyond said someone's control due to "addiction".

True, I have not. I didn't deny that there are those who do in fact use "addiction" as an excuse for something.

Regardless, even if it's an "excuse" addictions require intervention, and part of that intervention is responsibility for one's own actions.
