Villanova 69 UConn 64 FINAL

Pfft, forget rushing the court. Why didn't they just run out to the street and start a bonfire like Maryland fans do?

Act like you've beaten the #1 ranked team in the country at home before. Geez.

Exactally. Especially in bball where mid season high ranked teams don't mean a whole lot. While they are great it doesnt make or break a season. Those are the types of games where you go stormin' the court.

I see no problem with rushing the court here. This will be Villanova's biggest win at home all season long. It might be the biggest win of the whole season for any team.

Plus, it's not as if Villanova has been a perennial powerhouse. So beating one in UConn was a very big deal.

i think in their eyes the tourney will be their biggest game and nova isnt a pushover team. they have had their slumps but their 90's teams were very good and they were #4 in this game. there was no reason to rush the court. not to mention they play uconn again in 13 days.

I'm licking my chops after this game. It just proves that anyone can win this years championship, I think the difference in the top 15 teams is marginal. Bucks are getting their wheels rolling now and can go on a run in Febuary and March, that could get them to April.

Yeah, but we're talking about their biggest game at HOME. Their fans/students have been waiting all year for this game, and to get such a big win .... well, I just can't fault them for rushing the court. Unlike in college football, you don't have a lot of the same worries about danger, and quite frankly, I think rushing the court is a fine college basketball tradition.

I remember one year where Ohio State rushed the court like 3 times. None of the wins, I believe, was even against a top 10 team. This was a win over the top team in the country - their first win over a #1 since '95.

Each team gets one free pass a year if they get a big win over a top 5 team. This is Nova's free pass in my opinion.

I've thought that the whole year that UConn was overrated. I'm honestly not that impressed by Villanova, either. Maybe, I'm just not impressed by universities not named Ohio State...

im more impressed with nova and uconn than duke thats for sure. there doesnt seem to be any "dominating" teams this year which is why i like our chances. if uconn had villeneuva(sp?) they would be that dominating team but they dont.

i suppose so but even if ohio state beat uconn id find it rather idiotic. you are ranked and you beat the #1 team. its not like it is some major upset. espn made nova over uconn as an "upset". they are just 2 really good teams and nova won. georgetown over duke earlier in the year is understandable because i believe they were unranked at the time. bucknell over kansas is reasonable. i just dont see how nova over uconn that justifiable especially when you play that same team again in less than 2 weeks.

Michigan State game? Sorry, every team has a bad game once in a while. I think we could play with almost any team in america, but I wouldn't go around badmouthing them.

Villanova is a very, very good team. They were one of my preseason final 4 picks (along with UConn, Michigan St., and Duke). They've been playing without their starting PG (Nardi) lately as well. He played just a bit against UConn, but isn't expected to be 100% for another week at least. Imagine what they would be like with all-american Curtis Sumpter at PF as well. He's been out with a knee injury all year and would make them even more dangerous. They are a REALLY good team. I sure wouldn't want to play them come tourney time. UConn either for that matter...

Are you kidding me? I can see this game as a preview to the Championship game. I'm on the Nova bandwagon after watching that game last night.....they're for real. (Actually I was on it during the tourney last year sitting with 1 fine ass member of the Nova student body).

But to say you aren't impressed with UConn? Check your meds buddy.....name 1 other team in the country that is 10 deep. They literally have at least 8 players that would start on any other team in the country.

WOW! What a hell of a game! It really didn't matter to me who won because I know they're both great teams... but the momentum seemed to pretty much belong to Nova so I found myself rooting for them. Both teams should do well in the tournament
