Virginia at Ohio State, ACC-B1G challenge, ESPN

Last night's game gave me a glimmer of hope because Virginia is a very good basketball team and we hung with them for most of the game.

I do not understand why we pass the ball around the perimeter so much instead of getting right into some sort of offensive set. Well, I guess we do not have anybody that can really penetrate so we just pass the ball around. I thought Loving had a pretty good game and seemed more engage until the last 5 minutes. I thought KBD also played pretty well and I would like for him to take a shot when it is there for him. He seems a little reluctant. Tate was Tate. Gave it his all. Just wish he was a little better shooter from the perimeter. I think his range is about 15'. Same with Giddens. The kid brings it every night and it is nice to see. I still am waiting for Lyle to show me why he was so highly recruited. I know that is only a freshman and may be in a couple months I will see.

It is interesting to note that Virginia's best player Brogman came back for his final season. I do not know about his ball handling skills but he can shoot the ball as well as Russell. I do not know maybe values his education a little more.

As Matta stated we really do not have a lockdown defender for an opponent's good perimeter player.

Certainly glad we did not have the officials from the Memphis game because last night's game seem to have a lot better flow to it. The officials last night did not call all of the touch fouls that supposedly they are supposed to call. That was nice to see.

Pleasantly surprised by this game to be honest. I expected this team to get run out of the gym but they game was neck and neck almost the entire way. These close losses are going probably going to turn into close wins towards the end of the season.

Might need to put the fellas in front of some ball shooting machines. It's like somebody cloned Perry Carter's hands and grafted them onto every player on the team.
I do not think you would have said that to his face when he was in school:biggrin: and over the years I think I have seen worse hands. In fact, Amir Williams and Trey McDonald were lacking in that area.

He's a pretty big dude . . . So am I, but not that big, plus it would have been rude. The difference between Perry and those other guys was that he was a damn fine player who just happened to have hands of stone as an Achilles heel.
