This question goes out to the married folk on here. One of my best friends is getting married and my wife wants to buy he and his wife little decorative things to hold their rings in when they take them off.

I never take my ring off, so I would never use one. My wife on the other hand has 2 and she uses them every day.

These things are about $100 each so $200 total. I figure we can get them something cooler than ring holders for $200??

So my question is, do any of you guys take your rings off? If so, would or do you use a ring holder?

Ladies, I guess same question.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the wife would use hers, but my buddy I doubt would ever use it. I would probably end up putting cuff links or something in it, but a $100 cuff link holder?

Anybody have any good ideas on a cool wedding gift?

For her:

For him:

You know, as a symbol to remind them of this most precious of days.

Oh, and I stopped wearing my ring years ago because, well, I stopped being married.

I was always taking my ring off to mow, to do home improvement projects, this and that. I just don't wear my ring any more and it's safe in my wife's jewelry box. She doesn't wear hers any more either. Same deal - taking it off all the time.. just became a hassle.

The only time I take mine off is to work on the cars. Other then that, I always wear mine.

If you are willing to spend $200 on them, check out their gift registry. Being married, I am sure you know that it can be annoying to receive stuff that is not from the registry. I know on our registry, we had a few "cool" gifts such as a kegerator and Bose IPod docking station that were expensive, but stuff that we both enjoy.

And as NFBuck said, if all else fails, give them cash.

$100 for a ring holder? Damn, I'm in the wrong business.

I would've ridiculed such a gift had we gotten them. I also agree, stick to the registry or go with something you know they will both enjoy that is more personable.

I keep my ring on unless I'm working with machinery that will either damage the ring or remove my finger should the ring get caught.

I just got back from a wedding in the Windy City. I bought something they wanted off their registry and it was a top of the line Crock Pot.

Both Mr. And Mrs. were thrilled and invited me up during football season to put it to good use.

Follow the registry sir and all will be well.
