Week 14 CCG Games Discussion Thread

Right… I think they should jump FSU too.

The committee owes everyone the BEST four.

Unfortunately for FSU they lost their best player and most important player. They cannot be allowed to enter.

FSU is not 2014 tOSU
I couldn't disagree more with this mindset. That is no different than espn arguing Bama should get in every year because they're as talented as anyone. That ideology would further dilute the importance of winning your games in the regular season. We blew it. If FSU wins, no matter how ugly and regardless if they get throttled by UGA, they deserve to get in for going undefeated in the ACC and winning their CCG with a 3rd-string QB over a solid Lousiville squad

I keep seeing people on Twitter and even talking heads keep bringing up that Ohio State won with Cardale who was a backup (3rd stringer really) in relation to FSU this year.

Difference is though we beat #13 Wisconsin 59-0 in the B1G title game with Cardale in his 1st game as the starter.

Florida State needed a 4th quarter comeback to beat a bad 5-7 Florida team in their backups 1st start of the year, and if they even beat Louisville it more than likely won't be in big time blowout fashion.

Not all backup situations are created equal at all.

That being said we definitely aren't getting in over FSU and FSU is likely still getting in over Texas. They aren't leaving a undefeated P5 out for a 1 loss one, no matter the situation.

We struggled to beat 5-7 scUM at home before that Wiscy game

I'm not arguing that we should get in over FSU at all, i'm just pointing out that all backup situations are not equal. FSU is noticeably not as good with their backup. Ohio State rolled over Wisconsin in the B1G title game showing they were just as good. I doubt FSU does the same against Louisville.

But a 13-0 P5 team being left out of the CFP would be a first.

Looks like no matter what happens some fans down south are gonna be bitching. I'm actually okay with that part.

Yeah and I couldn’t push back harder from this.

Who cares who’s got the best record. Should some team be punished because they’re in a tough conference while someone gets a free ride all year?

In that case why didn’t Central Florida get a shot in 2017?

Seriously why not?

I don't think they would get left out. The committee is likely deep in prayer that they lose so they don't have to put them in. They COULD leave them out, the language allows it, but I don't see them actually pulling the trigger if FSU is undefeated.

UCF was in a non-P5 conference. They were never ranked as high as #4 at any time. That's the conundrum with FSU this year.

I don't see why they need to do anything similar to what we did in 2014. We had to win 59-0 because we had a bad loss and there were other 1-loss teams. FSU is undefeated and being compared to 1-loss teams. If there were 5 undefeated teams, then they would be under more pressure to win convincingly
