Well everyone at BP these 5 years have gone by so fast. I am sorry I have not posted in awhile, but I have always lurked on the message boards. That is why I am only posting this on this website. Since BP is the only site that rarely smack talks players. It is so sad to see message boards that let threads like the "See Ya Awards" thread continue to be commented on. I can tell you first hand that all Buckeye players play their heart out. They all take pride in putting on the S&G for tOSU and the State of Ohio.

I would just like to thank everyone who has always supported Steve. The next couple months will be another great adventure. Personally (not only cause he is blood) I can see Steve surprising some people.

I hope to continue to lurk and hopefully post more. I was really limited to what I could say and speak my mind about due to all the circumstances.

I hope you all had a great holiday season, and wish everyone the best in 2009.

I already can not wait till the spring game and being able to tailgate all day long once the season starts again.

Here's to the next #71 starting over 30 games.

Nice post dogg44. And, from my point of view, at least, there is nothing that a kid like Steve is going to accomplish in life that will "surprise" me or most Buckeye fans. I love these 5 year kids, who lead by example both on and off the field no matter what the circumstances. THEY are not only the backbone of their current teams, but they are laying the foundation for the future as well.

Best of luck to Steve, in whatever the future holds for him. I've always had the soft spot for the "big uglies" up front, and it's a position where timing can be key. In the right program, we could be seeing him for another 10 years on the field. Hell, why not Cleveland, zero TD's in 6 games would indicate a bit of a deficiency on the OL.

Peace.

I wanted to add something...

"Here's to the next #71 starting over 30 games..... and NEVER loosing to that state up north." 5-0!!!

Damn that sounds good.

This class accomplished a whole hell of a lot. 5-0 against TSUN? Never thought I'd see the day.

Congrats to Steve and the rest of the seniors, and thanks for helping make this Buckeyes dream come true.

Were the 5th year seniors campaigning for "One (pair of gold pants) For The Thumb" this year?

Peace.

It's been a hell of a run for these guys, and I hope they can continue this kind of success in whatever they do after they graduate. Congrats guys, you will go down in history to be the best (for now until we do it again, hopefully soon) class against that team up north. Well done.

Kid got alot of guff the last couple yrs, but he should be very proud of himself.. 30 starts as an Ohio St. football player is a helluva accomplishment for a guy that wasnt highly touted coming out of high school. :osu:

I just made the mistake of checking out another Buckeye football (or so they say) forum. (I won't say what it is called, but lots of people there are completely NUTS.)

In addition to the "See Ya Awards," they have a bunch of very stupid, whiny and/or hate-filled threads against Jim, his staff, and some players. No one is good enough for those know-it-all coaching geniuses/star football players. Can't anyone do something about that trash forum? Surely that site has an interest in cleaning it up? What if Terrelle had seen that shytt before making up his mind, and decided against tOSU since he didn't want to be the recipient of a "See Ya Award"?

Criticizing JT's play-calling is OK, and so is calling for a new defensive coordinator yadda yadda. Calling JT the worst coach in D1 football is completely NUTS.

Lamenting the fact that we lost three consecutive bowl games is one thing, but making it sound like JT was flinging boogers into the crowd while the players made rumpy-pumpy with the cheerleaders and left the opposing team an open field losing by 50 is silly.

Sorry for going off-topic, I just chose this thread to express my gratitude for having such a meticulous, serious-minded, and reality-based forum as BP. I don't think I would ever want to go to that other site again. Kinder things are said about us on M*ch*g*n forums...

Back on topic, Steve did well in his time at Ohio State. Sure he'll look back and see the ups and downs, but his future looks bright, and so does that of his alma mater.

:oh:

The left side of the line was money on most run plays. Beanie would often slide his way over there if things weren't looking good.

Steve (and Boone) simple caved that side in.

Sad that it's over as a Buckeye for Steve, but "Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye." He'll carry that "Buckeye" label with him the rest of his life. Something to be proud of as he moves forward. Here's to the best for his future!

Would love to nominate this as a "GPA." I thought it would have hit that status by now, because for a poster such as "dogg" to come in here and share such sincere and personal thoughts was quite refreshing.

Peace.
