Ohio State University Serves The Largest Thanksgiving Dinner On A College Campus

osu-thanksgiving.jpg

More than 1,000 people, including many international students, sat down to what is called the largest Thanksgiving dinner on a college campus at The Ohio State University.

It took 650 pounds of turkey, 30 gallons of gravy and more than 400 pounds of green beans and corn to feed the crowd inside the OSU Banquet Hall.

200 volunteers helped serve the food.

A few of the international students told 10TV what it's like to take part in this American tradition.

"A welcome to me," said graduate student Kenyang Sun. "It's more like a spiritual health, like a friendly gesture from this country to international students like me."

This was the 24th year for the dinner at OSU.

It was open to students and their families who were unable to go home for the holidays.

Nice gesture by Ohio State.

My moms homemade stuffing.

Totally against my predominately paleo dietary habits, but it's the thing she makes only once a year that gives me motivation to make it to the next Thanksgiving. I think I smashed half that casserole dish by myself tonight.

Looking to do something different for dessert for thanksgiving dinner. Pumpkin pie just doesn't get it any more. I remember my mom used to make bread pudding and I have been searching for a good bourbon or liqueur based recipe. I've checked Allrecipes.com and there are a couple. Maybe someone has a favorite they would share....
