Finally got back into Dan Simmons' Hyperion universe, and this one is just as good as the two before it--and it really leaves you no choice but to hurtle on through into "The Rise of Endymion". Simmons is an absolute master of plotting and cliffhangers. Father-captain Federico de Soya is a complex character and a great addition to the series. I have to admit I was not expecting Frank Lloyd Wright. :)

Aenea is the only messiah I've ever believed in.

I just finished reading "Live From New York", its a book talking about the history of Saturday Night Live with interviews with many of the former cast members, writers, and guests. It was a really good book.

While on vacation I read these:

The Paul Brown book was excellent. The Steinbrenner book was very good too. Both were unauthorized biographies (i.e. written without the help of his immediate family, etc.) so many less than flattering facts about the person are included.

:tongue2:

Have you finished it yet? I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on the book. I've only recently gotten my husband to start reading the books. He's currently on A Clash of Kings, so I'm dying to discuss the books with someone who is more along in the series.

I've read all of the books that have been released in the series so far (up thru A Dance With Dragons).

Share whatever you'd like, and myself and others will definitely talk about it.

I have a notebook filled with all my tin foil hat theories. I've read the entire series twice now and I was stunned by the amount of foreshadowing GRRM does. His mind is really something.

There were quite a few things I didn't piece together the first time I read the books. I'm hesitant to post things here in fear of spoiling something for new readers. Is there a thread devoted to the series on BP?

There's a thread in the RR with some good discussion. Maybe @BUCKYLE could direct you there?
