What can "Da U" do for you?

Calling miami thug u is hyperbole.
FIU was three years ago
"Now, that's what I'm talking about," Thomas said as the brawl raged out of control. "You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing."

It makes it pretty hard to distance themselves from that past with that fallout.
I'm not saying Notre Dame should apologize.
When you complain that ND hasn't apologized, that's exactly what you're implying. Just like when you talk about something in past tense, it doesn't mean something that is ongoing.
'm just pointing out that they havn't, and that, even though they are looked at by many (don't know if you do) as the most respectable program out there, they aren't much better.
But you're arguing with yourself. You keep bringing up 'rich white christians' and mock the so-called respected schools, but you're arguing with an imaginary opponent saying such things. We don't do that here.

The point everyone has been trying to drive home is Miami was hardly a pioneer when it came to using black athletes, let alone the flagbearer in that regard.

They might have been the most flamboyant, swagger-crazed & among the most unruly in CFB (along with OU), but Billy Corben is trying to oversell what his beloved Hurricanes did.

There's also the question about whether Da U's approach moved race relations & equality forward or backward.

All of Penn States arrests were within the past four years. OSU's 26 arrests were in Tressell's era. Yea and Lamar Thomas is the face of Miami. It was never denied that that was a dumb, irrational comment. The ND apoligizing statement was rhetorical, because no body addressed that side of the rivalry, and made it out to be that ND was way above them. All while this is circulating around campus. One T-shirt popular on the Notre Dame campus was emblazoned TOP TEN REASONS TO HATE MIAMI. It listed reason No. 10 as THEY THINK 'LEAVE IT TO BEAVER' IS A METHOD FOR GETTING 'HOMEWORK DONE, and No. 1 as simply JIMMY JOHNSON. CAN YOU READ THIS? MIAMI CAN'T said a banner high up on Flanner Tower (hmmm... very respectable). Another hot-selling T-shirt read YOU CAN'T SPELL SCUM WITHOUT U.M. Walsh said, "Notre Dame hasn't cornered the market on Catholic football players." Walsh is Catholic, as are, Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar and Vinny Testaverde. All Miami's starting offensive linemen, including tight end Rob Chudzinski, are Catholics too. But apparently Notre Dame gets to judge who's catholic and who's not:

And I never knew that saying you did something implies that you'll never do it again. Apparently you can predict my future.

Now there's a respectable comment. Although, I still believe Miami was a little more than "hardly" a pioneer

Trying to argue that folks didn't call ND on their arrogance (for this and everything else) and elitism simply doesn't pass the smell test. It's reason #1 that they are hated

So much for the not needing to apologize schtick.

They were one of many. They did it in a different manner than most, and certainly built a U vs world mentality, but they weren't the first.

I don't know if "^^^" are in refrence to his post above yours, or me calling for the Mcneiling.

The post above yours was a much more thought out than the shit he was posting earlier.

Me calling for the Mcneiling was stupid.

Still maintain their was some dumb ass shit posted.

It was referencing the wall of text eternal pursuit of unhappiness, by an apparently very spotty mind, citing PSU to justify Da U over TSUN and tOSU, when the real issue under discussion was illegal misuse of Pell Grants.

As you imply, he had nowhere to go but up. Made it by two nanometers he did.
