What excites me most about this upcoming season...
...is how our freshmen, younger players, and new offensive starters evolve. Combined with having 24 (or so) seniors next year, I think we are setting ourselves up with a TREMENDOUS clash with USC next year in LA, the winner being the odds on favorite to win the national championship.
I also could not possibly be more excited for our clash with Wisconsin this year... and would go so far as to say I'm more excited for the Wiscy game than "The Game" this year (even with all the Henne/Hart looking for their first win crap). After the one-loss season the badgers had last year and the fact they are returning damn-near EVERYBODY from last season, I think they are far-and-away the best team in the Big Ten going into the preseason fall practices. ...And as if THAT wasn't enough, I can always think of the Badgers dancing on our O at midfield after beating us at home a few years ago, the fact that the last 2 times we've played them has been at THEIR place (I thought it was supposed to alternate??), and that the Brew Crew will be recruiting their brains out before, during, and after the game in Columbus, entertaining recruits for the biggest recruiting weekend of the year (so far planned).

I, too, think Wisky is going to be tuff to beat this year. But didn't they only play like 2 or 3 teams that had winning records last year? Regardless, I'm glad the game is in the Shoe this year!

Well, realistically; we have to be nice to USC
Its pretty much been us & USC in the BCS title games since 02 --> present. USC with 3 appearances, and JT & co with 2. Last year was ours, now this year back to Petey... then next season back home.
See, we have a deal with our Southern cal brethren - tag team, or runnin' a train if you will. They get the nod for 07-08 and we get teh crown for 08-09. It works, we keep two great states happy and nobody truely knows that this bitch under the management of tOSU......

The other USC NC (AP poll) was the 2003 season, when they played in the 2004 Rose Bowl, but the Sugar Bowl between LSU and Oklahoma was the BCS Title Game that year.

The defense...I love to be an optimist but the offense is going to be much like the '02 offense where they can get the job done, but aren't much fun to watch. The defense however has insane depth and is going to be just unreal.
