Jerry Lucas
New rule: You had to have been born.. and old enuf to reach the TV dials... before he played... to nominate him

BTW Did you know Jerry Lucas did not get a basketball scholarship?
He would only accept an academic scholarship because he didn't want his scholarship to be effected on whether he continued with basketball.. He was offered a basketball scholly by virtually every pgm on the planet

He turned down an offer to play pro ball because he wanted to finish his Doctorate in Business at OSU... Steinbrenner owned the ABA Cleveland Pipers... and made him an offer he couldn't refuse... ABA delayed their season start date so Lucas could finish the semester... and ABA played far fewer games so Lucas could continue school...

I once sat with Jerry Lucas at his monumental fail, Jerry Lucas Beef 'n Shake behind the Northern Lights Shopping Center for more than an hour. He helped me a lot with memorization and I think it really helped me in school. A really nice, down-to-earth guy.

I'd go with him or Gary Bradds on any team, any day.

We would have lost to Northwestern and I forgot to mention free-throw shooting:wink:

Shannon Scott was a big reason we won that game also. About half of his 8 assists were to Lenzelle. Lets not try and throw it in my face because Lenzelle had the best game of his career. I'm not bashing Lenzelle either because he is a good player but I just think when we play teams that like to run and don't have huge size this team could be a lot more dynamic with Scott at the 1 Craft at the 2 and either Smith or Thompson at the 3

You really don't think that Craft would have gotten those assists or the majority of them if Scott were on the bench:shake: you never even replied to my prior post regarding this.

And here we are again, they beat Illinois and scUM beats IU, B1G Champions again. Win the B1G Tournament, then you're the arguably best conference's regular season Co-Champion and tournament Champion... that really has to be a #1 seed. Best time to be hot!

What if: UM beats IU and OSU beats Illini and Bucks win Big 10 tourney?

They were projected on the 4-5 line a week ago. I could easily see them get up to the 2 line but a lot of other stuff would need to happen to those top 5-7 teams for OSU to get up to a #1 line, jmho, especially with only 2 really good quality road wins all year.

I stand corrected, after looking at the schedule again, that was our only quality road win of the year. We are not getting a #1 seed even w/ the tough non-con games against KU and Duke and being in the toughest conference in the nation. A lot of basketball left to be played and if the Zags don't win their tourney championship, they won't get a #1 seed, simple as that.

In year's past, the final polls haven't been indicitive of seeding. Teams that have had a similiar resume as Gonzaga's but been ranked near the top of the polls have been dropped to the #2 line. This has been a crazy year at the top of the polls. You are taking a scenario that may happen this year and making it sound like it is the norm. Any other year w/ their schedule, even with their win total they are locked in on a #2 or #3 line.
