What If?(NCAA Tournment)

Got to thinking what would happen to the "talking heads" in the Meida, the Dickky V's of the world, Kenny Smiths' and Charles Barkley IF, and it's a big IF, in this Sweet 16 that Marquette beats North Carlonia, Arizona beats Duke,VCU beats Kansas this weekend, after OSU thumps Kentucky!

Man a lot of wind whould go out of the sails of this tournment as the "love for Kansas and Duke" hit the fan!

It made me wonder with a snicker, then who most of the OSU Buckeye haters whould turn to to beat us in the tournment! Marquette? Ucon(who Cowherd today called the best team in the country)?,VCU? Flordia(if they last pass BYU, Wisconcin or Butler?

It will get interesting as this thing plays out! It's fun to dream, right? ha ha..

If that happened, and if OSU won it all, then all it would do is provided ammo for the mediots to diminish the OSU team accomplishment and continue their drum beat that there were no great teams this year. While for me, I care more about Lindsay Lohan than what the media says about OSU, others would bitch about the media's portrayal.

How about this for a what if: What if OSU has to go through UConn, KY and Kansas to win it all?

I would prefer this scenario:

Ohio State beats Kentucky and UNC wins their game vs. Marq.; Duke and Kansas win their games out to the final 4.

Ohio State beats UNC in the Elite 8.

A Final Four of Ohio State, Duke, Kansas and BYU.

Ohio State beats Duke, then beats Kansas for the NC.

Beating Kentucky, UNC, Duke and Kansas sounds a helluva lot sweeter IMO.

Well it almost happened!

Geeze...a funny thing happened on the way to the party......6-8 inches more to the left wiht Bufords shot and we would be the ones dancing, and I believe in the cat birds seat. Hard to believe all #1's fell. Can you imagine what the talking heads, BB pundits would(will) say when VCU is crowned national Champs? It could happen. It would be the greatest sports story in 10 years. I love it. Just shows all of us, that life can take strange twists.....we don't know all we think we do that is for sure..ha ha..

A Cat fan perspective.

I would like to start by saying great game and I have never had anything but respect for your program. After reading some posts here, I'm not sure that feeling was mutual. But that isn't why I came here. It was about seeding for both of us.

If you looked at the power rankings after we both won our tourneys, the Cats averaged a 7 combining them all together. You guys were the overall number one seed, meaning, by us being in your bracket, we were the fourth number 4. Just like last year when we were the number one overall seed, and they couldn't decide the forth between Duke and WVU, they gave us WVU as a 2. If it was that close between Puke and WVU, shouldn't they have got the first 2 seed?

Florida got the 2 in the easiest bracket after we handled them twice easily at the end of the year with a power ranking much higher. But they don't like UK so we have gotten used to everything going against us and ESPN jumping for glee when we lose and picking against us at every turn. Winning the Sec tourney did us absolutely no good. The teams were already penciled in. Yet it sure seemed to help Puke beat UNC. Seems with Florida's bracket, they got the first 2, but you can't find any data to support that 5th spot.

So Cal is 1 and 8 all time against Bobby Huggins, so magically we get them the second game. then somebody told me the OSU AD was on the committee or chairman, can't remember which. So how does it feel getting screwed by your own guy. We were by far, the hardest bracket in the dance. You all being ranked number one, declared the number one seed, didn't deserve UK as a four and UNC as a 2. Although I'm confident that you all would have handled Florida(which you should have played) and UNC. Maybe you deserved Pitts spot and we should have been a two or three in a totally different region. The Duke spot would have been deserved, as well. Did you see the consecutive calls against Arizona in that game as they began to pull away? It was disgusting.

I'm just saying, should you all have an issue with the committee like we did, this year? All because we aren't the darlings of the NCAA? UNC in the East and Duke in the West, both playing games in Charlotte? It used to be that different regions played ALL games in different venues. We are awfully close to Ohio to be playing in Tampa. If we had had a guy on that committee, I would be tweaked. You all shouldn't have seen us until at least the Elite 8, if not the Final Four. Be angry, like we are with the constant abuse. Later, and great year you all had.

No arguments here. UK as a four seed is weak, as the 4th four seed is a damned joke. Congrats on the tourney run and thanks to UK for helping me win the BuckeyePlanet tournament pool :highfive:
