So I had this new addition to the set-up for the trick-or-treaters this year. I staged a "severed" head in the bushes next to the steps to my house. You couldn't really see it unless you were looking for it so I rigged a motion sensor to some orange lights in the bushes surrounding it and a strobe pointed straight at it. You start to walk up the steps, the lights all come on and you notice the severed head in the shrubs. Meanwhile no-one sees the "alien" on the other side of the steps (fake but could be swapped out for a live ankle grabbing actor... maybe next year.) You scream and the sound activated spiders and ghosts all start crawling/flying around in the black lights. Anyway, half-way into the night I notice I've lost my head! Fell down in the bushes maybe? No. I checked. :(
This is worse than the candy wrappers floating in the witch's cauldron last year. (It's a fog machine so that really could have been a fire hazard.)
I was at the door all night, but we had hundreds of people come by so it must have been swiped during a busy period or when the naughty nurse and the German beer wench came by. :tongue2:
Dang hooligans and their shenanigans! I bet it was Michael Vick or The Mob Boss. Sigh. I guess the good news is I can likely get a good deal tomorrow on an upgraded severed head for next year.
Thanks for reading my rant. I feel better now, like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders.
