This playoff bracket is so flawed I honestly have no idea who will win it. Clemson appears the least inept, yet I keep waiting for them to start Clemsoning, even though Dabo won't like that.

UNC still would had to gone and scored a TD and get the 2 to force OT. But phantom offsides was the comical "protect the conference playoff position" call I expected to maybe come in the Bama Florida game.

You guys underestimate MSU. This playoff is gonna be full of 007 intrigue. MSU offense is better then 3/4 of SEC offense. Their defense is really fucking good and could win a championship. Clemson offense is awesome and can outscore anyone. Oklahoma has the Big XII offense and their defense is just a little better then most Big XII. And Alabama is gonna line up and measure dicks.
I think this playoff is gonna be awesome. I got Clemson as the perfect combination of offense and defense.

Actually, think the extra game will help either 'Bama or Clemson and hurt OK.
Here's my proposal for an 8 team playoff. Get rid of a regular season game and add that to the quarterfinals which will be played a week after the conference championship games. Where these games will be played ??? but would like some of these games played up north in ***bad weather***. Hey, they played a Super Bowl in Jersey. Then the final four played as they are now with some of them up north as well in a domed stadium or not.
Indeed, let's take away the southern and western teams "home field" advantage.

I'm not going to stump for Ohio St right now because they lost their chance on the field. I think it should be a six team playoff with the five P5 champs and the highest ranked G5 team, with the top 2 getting byes. I worry that if you go to eight teams you have essentially guaranteed Notre Dame a playoff slot in any year they have fewer than three losses, and that cannot be allowed to happen.

Just. Can't. Root for the South. It was hard wired into me at birth. Was pulling for Dantonio until Cook's classless act. So, Big game Bob it is (hey I got drunk in Youngstown--in the 70's--and made it home alive. I guess--tenuous as it may be--that counts for something). Oy. That loss to Sparty continues to fester.....

Don't like the bye idea because playing a game the week before gives you an advantage after a longgg layoff. So either 4 or 8 and not stumping for Ohio State 'cause they played like crap all year and really didn't deserve to back in.
In fact, I've never liked the long layoff as it's a primary reason why there are upsets. Hard to get a team from up north motivated to play a game after a sunny week in Miami/NO/Pasadena etc. Again, focus is always a problem which is why a team like 'Bama who expects to play for a NC every year loses to a lesser opponenet ie Oklahoma in a bowl game. Lack of motivation.
You just have to get hot at the right time like the Buckeyes last year. The best team doesn't always win. It's the team that plays the best.
