There's actually a funny story behing this song. When we lived in Oregon, it was 1980, my dad and I drove to this place to by some chickens. They were advertised in the newspaper and it was someone's home. The people were Pacific Islanders which was rare for that part of Oregon at the time. Anyway we pull up and tell the man we want 10 chickens. They were Rhode Island Reds and he had them in a pen. He yells for his young son, probably about 10 years old, to go into the pen and get 10 hens. He goes in there and is trying to catch them and the hens aren't having any of it. They' running, flapping, flaying, feathers flying everywhere. My dad and I were just laughing our asses off watching this poor kid wrangle these chickens. Anyway the song ties in on the ride home. Perhaps it was because of the high that i got from laughing so much this song came on the radio and I loved it. I didn't know who sang it or what is was called for years. Sometime in the 90's I stumbled upon by accident and it has been a favorite ever since because it reminds me of that day. My people, including my wife, have told me it's the worst song that they've ever heard in their life
