What was the best team Ohio State ever faced?

There have been quite a few national championship teams the Buckeyes have faced over the years and some other really good ones. What was the best team Ohio State ever faced?

Close call between 97 FSU and 94 Pedsters. Think I'll go with the Pedsters tho... that team was really fuckin good. I mean.. the OSU team it took to the woodshed wasn't a bad squad.

I agree that the 94 Penn State team would be up there by the shear dominance that had over their opponents. The 2002 Miami team would be be right behind them. I would have put them at number 1 if they had not taken us so lightly. That goes to the coaching staff and the leadership on the team.

That is just in the recent past. I am sure there were some good teams in the 60s and 70s that have not been mentioned.

I've heard people say the '72 USC team was the best college football team of all time. Looking at their record that year it would seem they could make a case.

9 point win over a ranked team on the road was the closest game they had all year.
