hell back when this thread was made, we didn't know who the QB was going to end up being (or how he would perform) and we did not know how Robiskie, Small and Hartline were going to step up.

13-0 is the goal as always, but hindsight is also 20/20.

I voted for 11-2. In fact I could still be right but let's not go there. I thought I was really being optimistic then.

I'd also definitely prefer to be wrong on my 11-2 vote, and bow down to the 8 who went for "12-1 and win the NC". :wink2:

To start I?d like to remind all those who thought we?d lose 2 or 3 games this year to stick it. We lost one game, a game we absolutely should have won. Yes the Illini played an impassioned game. Yes, the Bucks didn?t play their best ball, especially Boeckman. That said, it was a ?to be? suspended officiating crew (have they been fired yet?) that cost us the game. With the turnover in the first quarter we are most assuredly up 14-0 and the entire complexion of the game changes. Take away the rampant holding (which got so bad that in the 2nd half the stadium booed the refs into finally calling a single holding penalty, the only call against the Illini in the game) and I assure you the final Illini drive turns out differently. Our defense played stellar all season, yet laid a giant egg, at home, on senior day? Bullshite!
:tibor:

1.) No such thing as "should have won".. we aren't Notre Dame or Miami fans.

2.) Blame it on the refs! Hell yeah! ...pussy excuse.
    • The refs did suck, but we had plenty of opportunities to win that game
    • While I am one who agrees that the obvious fumble changed the complexion game, there is no way it's "assuredly 14-0".. maybe Boeckman throws a pick 6 the next play? Maybe Beanie puts it on the turf? Maybe we don't march down the field 98 yards after recovering Illinois fumble?
    • As a Buckeye fan, you should be used to the rampant holding not being called. It is what it is. It's bullshit I agree, but its the way it is.
3.) Now you're onto something - the defense laid an egg. Thats a legitimate key to the loss, much more so than the refs IMO. Maybe Boeckmans numbers well offer some insight into our loss: 13/23 156 yards, 0 TDs 3 INT..

Do not come in here crying "the refs, the refs, the refs" when our defense couldn't get a stop the ENTIRE 4th quarter and our QB had zero touchdowns and turned it over 3 times.

That is why we lost - not the shitty officials .. lets be honest, they're shitty week in and week out anyways.

You should also look into getting a tattoo of your own hand on your back. But while we're complimenting ourselves - I did call our defense being nasty as fuck right before the spring game :wink2:
