Which player will have the highest individual scoring game in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament?

NOTE - if Joe Schmo scores 41 points and his team loses in the first round, and Tyler Hansbrough scores exactly 40 points every game for 6 games, Joe Schmo wins this bet.

Joe Schmo would be paid out under 'Any other player".

NOTE - I will wait until the Sweet 16 to create the MOP of the Final 4 bet next week.

Joe Crawford of Kentucky set the first day points mark with 35 in an opening round loss to Marquette.
It is too bad that this vbet on BP may be the only place some BB fans might notice his stellar performance.
Crawford fouled out, yet managed to outscore the rest of his teammates combined 35-31.

Stephen (Steff-un) Curry, Dell's son, scored 40 for Davidson in their win over Gonzaga today - 30 in the second half. A missed FT with 7.2 seconds left kept him from matching his career high.

That might hold up for the whole tournament.

I don't know if 40 is going to stand much longer. Curry is still in it and I think he might hit 50 sometime in the tourney.

ESPN had a graphic last night showing the list of players who have scored at least 30 in each of their first 3 tournament games. Curry joined this list:

Clyde Lovellette
Wilt Chamberlain
Oscar Robertson
Jerry Chambers
Glenn Robinson
Stephen Curry
