Which teams will get #1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament?

I find it funny and sad that ESPN was pimping BYU as a #1 seed and now that they have dropped a game and lost a player they are barely a #8 seed.

It's almost as pathetic and transparent as Southern Idaho State going from a title game contender to outside of the top 10 after a loss.

Nothing says pretender like free falling after dropping a single game. :shake:

My biggest issue with all this is how does it prepare the young man for life after basketball/school? Is it realistic to teach him that a pregnant girlfriend is such a big deal? Knocking up your girlfriend isn't the end of the world. Knocking up your girlfriend and your wife finding out about it is when it becomes a major problem.

Maybe that's just the non Mormon in me talking. I dunno.

Looks like tOSU and Kansas have pretty much locked up #1 seeds.

Pitt is probably going to get one as the regular season Big East Champ, regardless of how they do in the Big East Tourney, because the way the top 4 teams get a double-bye, they shouldn't face a team that could give them a real bad loss.

The 4th spot could go to Notre Dame if they win the Big East Tourney(maybe if they just get to the final), especially if Duke doesn't win the ACC tournament.

BYU lost their shot at a #1 by losing at home to New Mexico, and SD State lost their shot by losing at home to BYU.

Purdue probably lost their shot at a #1 by losing at Iowa.

Texas lost 3 games in the last couple of weeks, so I can't see them getting a #1.

And Wisconsin and North Carolina should be too far away to get a #1 seed.

So the committee could put Duke and ND in the same region, if they're the weakest #1 and strongest #2. That might be a good region to be the #3 seed.

Wasn't Duke the lowest #1 seed last year and given the gift of the easiest bracket while they put an inordinate amount of strong teams in another?

Their region was obviously the easiest as soon as the brackets came out. Villanova was the #2, Baylor was the #3, and a Purdue team that lost Hummel late in the year was the #4.

I hope the committee doesn't envision good TV ratings by giving Duke and ND easy brackets to advance in.

Unpossible.

The selection committee would never do anything like that. Next you'll be saying they'll put Duke in as the east brackets #1 to give them 2 games in NJ.

Hater.

Exactly.

It's not like $10.8 billion for broadcasting rights would influence which teams the networks would want to get on TV most often, or anything.

People are so fucking cynical these days.
