Bono seems to be quite informed. yeah, it's better when celebrities put their time and money into material possessions instead of trying to better the world. :roll1:

While you make a point here, that point reflects a fundamental problem of the leftist mindset, which is the view that so long as one's intentions are good, results don't really matter. From what media I've casually seen, Bono does seem to genuinely work to be informed on various poverty issues. Whether he's actually doing any good is a tougher question.

You mean like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jesse Ventura, Ronald Reagan, Tom Osborne, Fred Thompson, Lynn Swann, Clint Eastwood, Sonny Bono, or Jack Kemp?

All of whom were actually elected to public office and accountable to their constituents, as opposed to having a pulpit by dint of celebrity with no vetting or accountability. That said, some celebrities in the "unaccountable" category do actually do some homework and have some insights, Bono being one of those. Many others fall into the Pam Anderson-Kanye West moron category, however.

What's sad is many people can't tell the difference between those celebs that know what they are talkign about and what ones are clueless.

Example, it seems as if yes indeed Bono has done allot of research in the things he says and has even been appointed to a post within the UN I beleive. However, there are just as many celebs ( Tom Cruise comes to mind) who tend to use issues or movements just to make a name for themselves.
