[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Paint The End Zones, He'll Be A Buckeye

[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Very Good Chance

[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Good Chance

[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Slight Chance

[bucks]*[/bucks] - No Realistic Chance</fieldset>

Maurice Wells

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Maurice had a great official visit for the scUM game and the Bucks look to be in really good shape. While some think Georgia Tech will be the choice I think Wells sees an opportunity to play early in Columbus, he has family in the area and the Buckeyes have been recruiting him from the start."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “MoW is down to a final two of tOSU and GTech. He had a great official visit for the scUM game where the coaches explained his future role in the tOSU system. This seems to have struck a chord with him but he still must visit GTech. tOSU will have to wait until Jan. 15th (AA Game) before he makes his announced decision. IMO, tOSU presents too big of an opportunity for Mo to turn down. I like our chances and think he will be a Buckeye.”

Selwyn Lymon

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Lymon is scheduled to visit the Buckeyes although Purdue is currently his leader. Selwyn likes the way the Buckeyes have used Ted Ginn Jr. and he's taken notice of his production. I would have liked our chances even more if Lymon had visited for a game but a visit gives us a chance. In the end I think he picks Purdue but a great visit to Columbus theoretically could change things."

86 – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “First things first, Selwyn needs to visit tOSU. He claims he will, along with Purdue (slight favorite), scUM, Wisky and PSU. It seems like an uphill battle for Selwyn. IMO, he will choose Purdue.”

Jason Gwaltney

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Gwaltney had a great official visit and loved watching the Penn State game in the Horseshoe. Dionte Johnson, his possible future fullback, was his host and Gwaltney recognized the opportunity he would have. He is still verbally committed to WVU but isn't nearly as solid as he once was. With our running back situation and the running back tradition at Ohio State you would think it would be very difficult not to pick the Buckeyes(I know, I'm biased). Gwaltney may stick with his WVU verbal but the Buckeyes will be very hard to say no to."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Jason has set all the Long Island, NY rushing records and is considered one of the top RB’s in this year’s class. He is currently committed to WVU but wanted to take some visits to confirm whether he made the right decision or not. He had an official to tOSU for the PSU game and was blown away. He still must take the rest of his visits (include USC and WVU) but tOSU will be a player until the end. He will also announce at the AA game on Jan. 15. I think there is a good chance he will choose the bigger stage of tOSU over the opportunity to play with his brother at WVU. He knows tOSU has a need for a big back and the temptation to play early with the Buckeyes could prove too great in the end."

Rico McCoy

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Early on in the process McCoy favored Miami and Ohio State. After Miami slid down the list his favorites were Ohio State and scUM. Now Rico is currently listing Ohio State and Tennessee as his favorites. The one constant has been the Buckeyes. Rico is a little worried about the NCAA investigating the Buckeyes but Rob Schoenhoft will most likely make his official visit to Columbus when McCoy does and hopefully he'll ease his worries. In the end I think McCoy ends up a Buckeye.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks] “ Rico still must take all his visits (including tOSU). He has developed a friendship with Robbie Schoenhoft and Coach Fickell has done a great job selling Rico on the benefits of being a Buckeye. In addition, he recognizes that he will have an early opportunity for playing time. IMO, he will pick the Buckeyes either on his 12/3 visit or after all his official visits are over.”

Andre Mathis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “The Buckeyes have been high on Mathis' list for a while but The Vols currently leads. In the end I think it becomes a numbers game and there are other linebackers(Spitler and McCoy) the Buckeyes land. I think Mathis ends up at Tennessee."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks] “His favorites include tOSU, MSU and Tenn. He had already visited MSU (against tOSU) and he will visit tOSU and Tenn. in the next two weekends. tOSU is the closest of his favorites and he is developing a relationship with Coach Daniels. It seems like we should have a good shot but my sense is he may be looking for something else. I would say he chooses another opportunity.”

Sean Smalls

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “The Buckeyes have been near or at the top of Smalls' list for some time now. I think the Buckeyes are a little thin at corner right now and could use a versatile player like Sean. If Ohio State goes after Smalls I think they land him. scUM looks like our biggest competition at this point."

86 – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “IMO we need another true CB in this class and Sean seems like the best candidate. I would like to think the tOSU coaching staff is working hard on earning his commitment. But with King going to PSU, scUM could prove to be tough competition. I think it is 50/50 that he chooses the Buckeyes.”

Alex Daniels

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It’s difficult to even guess where Daniels is going to end up. His Mom wants him to leave the state yet he's not taken any visits yet and has been to just about every Ohio State home game. The longer Daniels goes without taking some visits the more I believe he'll end up a Buckeye. If it wasn't for his Mom I'd say chances are he would end up in Scarlet and Gray. Too tough to call right now but you can't count out the Bucks."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “There continues to be mixed reports on Alex. Not only does he like OU but he keeps hoping for offers from LSU, Miami etc. It really seems like he is just looking for the opportunity to leave C-bus, just like his mother wants. But on the positive side he continues to visit tOSU home games and he continues to cancel his OU visits. He now has a visit set for Minnesota and is still supposed to visit OU at some point. When all else fails go with MOM. I think Alex goes elsewhere.”

Ronnie "Taz" Wilson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Taz's story is well documented. If the offer is there Ronnie will be a Buckeye. I know I have my fingers crossed as does everyone else on Buckeye Planet. How you could turn away a quality o-lineman and a quality person like Ronnie is beyond me."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Taz is a great young man and someone that everyone on BP is pulling for to become a Buckeye. But tOSU may decide to stay with 3 Olineman and use the extra ship on defense. I personally hope this does not happen because I believe Taz is a tremendous talent and a better person. He would be an outstanding addition to this class. It is in JT’s hands.”

CJ Jackson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It appears the Buckeyes have backed off a little bit. It sounds like he'll be a Buckeye if an offer is there though. CJ is a great athlete and a very polite kid. Hopefully things workout for him and Taz and they both end up Buckeyes."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks] “CJ appears sold on tOSU, claiming in a recent interview that tOSU was his favorite. He is also willing to be recruited as an Athlete rather than exclusively as a QB. But he may be caught up in a numbers game, with tOSU using a majority of their remaining scholies for the defensive side of the ball. It appears unlikely that he will become a Buckeye.”

Javon Ringer

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “*Offer the kid.* Javon was having a fantastic senior year before the knee injury. He has a qualifying test score and hopefully he gets his grades to where they need to be. *Offer the kid.* Javon has Sparty in the lead but I'm sure a Buckeye offer would change that. *Offer the kid.* If the offer comes Ringer is a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Javon was on his way to being a Buckeye until he was injured midway through his senior season. In addition, the Buckeye coaching staff continues to be cautious about Javon’s grade situation. They have offered him a gray shirt opportunity but that doesn’t appear to be enough. His offer and acceptance may hinge on the status of MoW or even Gwaltney, unless the tOSU coaches decide to take three backs in this class. If an offer does not come, Javon may be headed to Sparty land.”

Elijah Hodge

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Hodge visited for the scUM game and spent time with Mo Wells and Taz. Iowa, NC State and Pitt will provide the stiffest competition for Hodge. After seeing The Game first hand and seeing our favorable depth chart at LB in another year you have to like our chances."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “A smaller, quicker WILL backer prospect. He comes from the same school (Ft. Lauderdale Dillard) as Chris Gamble and Thomas Matthews. His brother is a senior LB at Iowa. He took an official to tOSU for the scUM game and will also visit Iowa and NCST (who are the main competition). IMO, he will see the opportunity to play early in C-bus and become a Buckeye.”

Austin Spitler

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Spitler recently received the Buckeye offer he was looking for. He is going to keep his word and will visit Wisconsin but it's just a matter of time, IMO. Spitler will be a Buckeye."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Paint the endzones! Austin should commit on his 12/10 visit to tOSU. He will also make a courtesy visit to Wisky (his other favorite) on 12/3.”

Walker Ashley

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Unfortunately I don't think AShley Comes here."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Some say he made a silent commitment to USC in the Summer and then he made a more public announcement of his intentions this Fall. It appears his parents want him to take all his visits before he makes a formal commitment, which is what he is doing. He will visit tOSU but I do not expect him to choose the Buckeyes. Petey should get his guy.”

Anthony Felder

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "The Buckeyes are getting a visit and that's all you can ask for. Our linebacker situation should be attractive for any potential recruit. It would have been nice to get Felder on campus for a game in the Shoe. With his first 3 visits set up for Notre Dame, LSU and Ohio State it doesn't seem like distance will play a huge factor in his decision. We have as good a shot as anyone.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “He has narrowed his favorites down to ND, LSU and tOSU. He will visit all three of his favorites plus two PAC10 schools over the next two months. He appreciates the early opportunity and the tradition that tOSU has to offer. ND has gotten some kids from his school in the past and they might be a slight favorite. But all we can ask for is a visit and then it is up to the coaches to work their magic.”

Anderson Russell

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Russell made an unofficial visit for the Penn State game and came away very impressed. He will be making his official visit in December and my guess is he'll commit during his visit."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - “I am not sure how we fit 4LB and 3 more DB’s in this class (Smalls, Rowell, Russell) but that very well could happen. Russell claims an offer and tOSU is a big favorite. Assuming the offer is real, he will commit to the Buckeyes."

Jonathan Stewart

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “The Buckeyes are still in the mix to get one of Stewart's final 2 visits. You have to believe he and Coach Tressel would really hit it off. A big back like Stewart or Jason Gwaltney would be the icing on the cake in this class, IMO. If the Buckeyes get one of his last visits our chances improve dramatically. If I had to pick where he ends up now I'd probably go with the hometown Cougars."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Jonathan had an incredible senior year where he set all the Washington State rushing records. tOSU is among four schools vying for two remaining official visit slots. He has not fully qualified and is awaiting his most recent SAT scores. Given the distance, lack of grade certainty and no scheduled visit, I would have to say tOSU’s chances remain low with Snoop”

Melvin Alaeze

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Ohio State is currently in Alaeze's top 5 but he has four official visits scheduled and the Buckeyes aren't one of them. Melvin probably ends up at Virginia Tech or Maryland."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] “tOSU has made Melvin’s top 5. The only problem is that Melvin may only make visits to his top 4, any guesses who no. 5 is?? Yes, it is your beloved Buckeyes. There is very little chance here, although Coach Fickell has done a great job recruiting him.”

Kazeem Alli

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “With Irizarry gone and Hamby a Senior to be we could use a TE in this class and Alli and Stephen Gowland are a couple of tight ends the staff has shown interest in. Having ex-teammate Nick Patterson in Columbus helps our cause and we’re closer to home than Georgia Tech, one of his favorites. Tight end just doesn't seem like a priority in this class though

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Kazeem plays at the same school as Nick Patterson. He has been in touch with the tOSU coaches and they made his top 5. If Kazeem visits there is a chance he could become a Buckeye but IMO the Bucks don’t take a TE in this class."

Chris Rowell

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Rowell recently received a Buckeye offer and grew up a Buckeye fan. He was scheduled to be in the Horseshoe for the game. Rowell has decent size and a blazing 4.07 shuttle time. Just a matter of time, IMO."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - “Chris looks like he could play CB or Safety. The Buckeyes made a later offer and he visited for the scUM game. Chris has been a lifelong Buckeye fan but is also considering tsun. Look for an eventual commitment from Chris.”

Freddie Lenix

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Lenix is a playmaker and would be a fine addition to this class. Earlier in the process the staff told him to be patient and that an offer would be coming. There hasn't been much recruiting news on Freddie lately but Glenville is in the middle of an amazing playoff run. If the offer comes you have to believe Lenix joins Ginn, Whitner, Terry and Smith in Columbus.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks] “Freddie is the definition of a playmaker and he is proving as much in Glenville’s playoff run. The main concern is Lenix might be too much of a tweener and there is also a concern about his academics. I see him as a WILL backer at the next level while others see him as a safety or maybe even a RB. But IMO, the kid just makes plays. We should offer (assuming he makes the grade) and he would accept.”

Curtis Smith

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “If an offer comes expect Smith to join the rest of his Tarblooder teammates in Columbus. Will the offer come is the question. All has been pretty quiet on the recruiting front.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “If we offer he should become a Buckeye but that is not a given. He may end up being a late offer similar to his ex-teammate Curtis Terry. The offer probably only happens if a lot of other scenario’s fall through.”

Mike Ford

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Ford has had an amazing senior year but grades are an issue. Things would have to fall through with Wells, Gwaltney, Stewart and Ringer for Ford to get an offer. Look for him to go elsewhere.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] “He is having an incredible rushing year in Sarasota, Florida setting record after record. He has expressed interest in the Buckeyes but with no visits taken or set and an uncertain grade situation, I think it is highly unlikely that he becomes a Buckeye.”

Eric Sledge

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Sledge has been listing Ohio State for a while and the Bucks could use a player with his size and versatility. It’s unfortunate he was never able to make it to the Shoe for a game. I don’t think he ends up a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Sledge is still listing tOSU as a favorite. If he makes it up for a visit and his grades are in order he may be a late commit. I tend to think he will go elsewhere.”

James Laurinaitis

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “This Minnesota verbal will visit Columbus after the season. I think this is a case of a kid not realizing he’d have so many options so he’s taking a few trips. In the end I think he sticks with the Gophers.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “James is a Minnesota commit who will be visiting tOSU. He plays for one of the top HS teams in Minnesota and seems like an outstanding ILB prospect. But in the end I think he will stay with his home town College team, Minnesota.”

cinci, members of the Buckeye staff were at the Glenville/McKinley game last weekend to watch him, Lenix and a few others play. Bill Greene of Ohio High doesn't think he gets an offer, which is too bad. Those who have seen him play say he's quite a football player even though he might not have the greatest measurables.
