Who will step up in 2010?

Nathan Williams is going to step up huge. That kid will get to the QB at all costs.

J-Berry is a guy we have to look out for running the ball. I'd like to see a lot of reps out of him.

Either Hyde or Smith will need to step up on third an inches to not put all the pressure on TP.

I really can't wait for those two runningbacks but they may be a year off.

Im interested in Moeller if he plays, can be the best LB on the roster. I'd like to see something out of Bell as well.

I know that RB is DEEEEP but I've been waiting since last signing day to see Jaamal Berry tote the rock. So I'll say Berry on offense or maybe returning punts/kicks.

And I have this sneaking suspicion that John Simon is about to make some serious noise.

D- Nathan Williams will be huge for us next yr, but i also think Melvin Fellows and or Keith Wells will step up too. At linebacker we have so much talent but i think Bino takes Spitlers spot, And i think Jamie wood will step into the shoes of Kurt Coleman next yr.

offense- Marcus Hall or Mike Adams on the line, Jaamal Berry and Carlos Hyde in the back field, and Duron Carter at Wide out. Also on offense, TERRELLE PRYOR will step up and be hugggeeeee he will just keep getting better and he has a long time to watch alot of film and become a better passer before next season.

Next yr is are year

I think that offense will remain the same except that when Dane is in the slot in our three-wide sets. I think TWash will get his time to shine. On D, I am curious to see what will happen at the safety spot. Will Jermale Hines become a full-time safety? Or will Heacock and defensive staff decide to keep him at as the Star. If he remains the Star, I think O. Johnson at Safety at F/S and Jamie Wood but what about Corey Brown from Monroeville, PA. At the SAN linebacker position, I think we will see Sabino.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Solomon Thomas. Does no one remember his spring last season? I think he had 7 sacks by himself in a scrimmage (granted QB's were in blackshirts).

I think he will become our next Nathan Williams in terms of getting on the field in blitzing situations. Slide Cam down to DT, Solomon comes in at end with Nathan rushing from the other side.

Watching the Rose Bowl again, I really hope Jordan Hall gets some meaningful PT in 2010. We have run the read-option with Boom and Zoom at various times, but it can be feast or famine. You have to think that TP and JHall's chemistry from HS will carry over to OSU. RB is definitely a position where there will not be enough snaps to go around next year. OSU can probably go the whole season running B and Z from traditional sets and get sufficient production, but with TP's running ability, the threat of an explosive read-option could give DCs nightmares for months.

Hines needs to step into whichever safety role he's most needed (he can play either), but he was ready this year. The other S spot will be coming in with next to zero PT, but they will have plenty to lean on.

Personally, I would like to see Goebel and KWells have big years, just because they seem like strong character guys.

Really, we don't need anyone to come out of nowhere to make the season. The guys who need to play big in 2010 have already shown that they are capable, and the holes left by players leaving are well tended. As long as the offense makes a reasonably expected improvement, and the D can fill the holes left by the safeties and Thad, the 2010 team should be better than 09 out of the gate. It's a good time to be a Buckeye!

I'm going with Duron Carter, hopefully he learned from not playing in the Rose Bowl, that JT takes grades seriously!
And I'm thinking John Simon will step up in a major way for us next year, and make all those analysts who didn't think he'd be good, to eat their words!
Oh yeah and Zoom will take the Big 10 by storm(if he stays healthy)

Offense: Saine breaks 1,000 yards, Berry looks great in limited role, Carter breaks out officially, Jackson makes an impact at WR, Stoneburner gets the ball thrown his way at TE, and Adams starts hitting his potential

Defense: Goebel shares time with Simon as starter, Sabino locks down a spot and ends up 2nd in tackles behind Homan, Moeller excels at Star with Hines moving back to safety, and Jamie Wood takes the vacated safety spot opposite Hines

Special teams: Buchanon kicks and punts while Basil gets acclimated, James Jackson takes a couple to the house, and Saine is the other KR starter
