Redick, and I'm not a big fan of his at all. But he brings it, against top competition. He may continue the nba bust trend from the dookies, but he is a phenomenal college player. Ray received strong consideration as well.

On a sidenote, I can't wait until Morrison becomes a role player in the league, so we can stop hearing the racist comparisons to other white guys (the only logical reason to compare him to bird). As for his place in this race, he might want to pretend to play D once in a while before he garners consideration for this ward.

Morrison can't do anything as well Bird did, but I think he can score enough to be more than a role player. Please tell me you don't think JJ will be a better pro than Morrison.

is he a prolific scorer, enough to overcome not being a very good passer/rebounder, and a terrible defender? I don't see future stardom for Morrison. As for JJ, I think he can be a deadly spot shooter that won't amount to much in the NBA, as noted by my comments on nba busts from duke.

In college, however, I do not believe that Morrison is close to the other three in this list.

J.J. Redick will win the award. However, I believe that Morrison is more deserving. Redick has a much better supporting cast around him, while Morrison has very little, if any role players on his team. They both have nearly identical stats, and the fact that Redick has Shelden Williams should give Morrison the edge.

Morrison not close to the other three? He has one other legit player on his team in Batista. Morrison is a much better college player than JJ IMO. Redick doesn't pass the ball well for a guard and plays less D than Morrison. I have no problem with anyone else winning it but JJ is a shooter, nothing more nothing less. He is a higher profile Gerry McNamara (minus the passing ability).

I agree that Redick will get it.

And Elton Brand has managed to avoid the 'Dookie' NBA bust thing. But I wouldn't take Redick in the lottery. He can't create his own shot in the NBA, and he'll get posted up by big guards when he's on defense.

Redick chokes at every big game opportunity. Redick is probably the most overrated player in the country, and is no more than a role player on the team. Redick is not nearly good enough to carry a team against good opponents, without help. His little 3-18 shooting performances in big games are pathetic. He has nearly a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio, and averages 2 rebounds a game. He also only averages 1.5 personal fouls a game, which could indicate a somewhat lack in aggressiveness on defense (i may be reaching, but you don't see a lock-down defender only averaging 1.5 fouls a game).

Redick is a shooter, and a streaky one at that. It amazes me that Shelden Williams isn't even considered for this award.

Well this poll is kind of a bust because it includes 2 Big East players, but not the Big East Player of the Year, Randy Foye. I assume you meant to include him instead of his teammate Allan Ray.

Ultimately, as others have touched on above, this is a 2 horse race, and I would give the nod to J.J. Redick over Adam Morrison. The past Duke player Redick is most like is Trajon "The Alaskan Assassin" Langdon, only he is about 10 times better because Redick can actually dribble.

Redick did it against better competition and did it without leading with his elbow and forearm on every drive. And he only cries after he has lost.
