Are you talking about Big Ten Football or the posters jumping on the OPs case?
Slow white people.
I think Ohio State should move to the SEC.
Seriously? Akron? Central Florida? Is this all about the lack of homegrown talent in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan? How does perennial powerhouse Nebraska give up 38 unanswered at home? It's getting embarrassing.
Let me try to answer this question from a philosophical perspective:
A wise person once said, "to suck or not to suck, that is the question."
Suckage, in it's most basic sense, can be a complicated issue as there is not always a clear reason why someone sucks to the degree in which they suck. Suckage is funny that way. Multiple factors can contribute to suckage, all which have various layers that can add or take away from the suckiness. Other times it is as simple as one clear, common factor, which lays blame to the suck factor.
What came first the chicken or the egg? In the same way one could ask what comes first, suckage, or well, suckiness? Does suckiness lead to suckage or vice versa? Remember, even in SUCcess there is a root of potential suckage that is hidden, though clearly there to the discerning eye. You see, it is not as simple an answer as one might think.
One thing though is for certain: It sucks to suck. This much I know.
To continue the philosophical approach -
Are we slow because we are white? Or white because we are slow?
I think it's a guess as to the OPs race and making a connection between that and his mental capacity.
There is virtually NO value to star rankings from any recruiting services. Even to the extent that their rankings and star awarding is valid, Lane Kiffen couldn't coach his way out of a stairwell. Earle Bruce took average players and made them great because he could coach. (That's not to say he didn't have some studs, of course) John Cooper has more of the opposite problem, he had a roster filled with grade A talent but couldn't get the job done at the end of the year with enough consistency with it.BKB, great answer. And not hostile. My next question is, what is the real value of the 5 star rankings from Scout and Rivals? USC has a roster filled with them and they lost to a bunch of 2 and 3 stars at WSU. Manziel wasn't a 5 star out of high school. Ahh, that's a another thread for another time.
Rivalries aside, I like the Big Ten, I root for the Big Ten. I never want to see the Akrons and UCFs beat a Big Ten team. Last weekend was an abortion for Big Ten fans everywhere. And we're not completely immune. What the hell is Cal doing scoring 34 points? But it's certainly not the same issue as what took place in Ann Arbor and State College.
Good point that the SEC will not be dominant forever. For the sake of accuracy, though, the SEC has seven consecutive NCs. I think the Big10 had four between 79-2003. LSU, Tenn, FL, and UGA also won NCs during that stretch. Hard to say it was just Bama. The SEC has won 6 Championships in a row, and there is little dispute that they are the best football conference in the nation during that time. Prior to this unprecedented run, the SEC took from 1979 to 2003 to win 6 National Championships. If you take away Alabama's you have to go back to 1957 to get six SEC National Champions. Which is to say, the SEC was once Alabama and no one. Much like the B1G is now Ohio State and no one.
Point? Nothing ever stays the same. The SEC will not be forever dominant and considering the level of cheating and lack of academics (we are talking about college football, after all) they aren't much of anything of which to aspire.
No?
How about now?
