According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Snoop Dogg joined the top-ranked Trojans on Tuesday, participating in the team's practice.

And the rapper isn't the only celebrity to practice with USC during their current renaissance; last December, actor Will Ferrell (a Southern Cal alumnus) donned a uniform and practiced with the team prior to the Rose Bowl.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, had been trying to get on the field with the Trojans for some time. But head coach Pete Carroll resisted the idea until this week, in part because USC doesn't play again until Nov. 27.

"I was a big SC fan growing up," Broadus said. "Some of my favorite players were Marcus Allen, Charles White, Willie McGinest, Curtis Conway (and) Junior Seau."

"He could work on his cutting a little bit . . . but he has some good hands," said flanker Jason Mitchell. "He told me he wasn't getting the ball enough." USC cornerback Eric Wright took advantage of the rapper's presence to showcase his own rapping skills. "He's dope," Broadus said.
