Why it pays to have a wife who understands the OSU passion....

Semper Fi!
My wife goes to Columbus on business... comes back with a bag filled with...

and something closely resembling this:

My wish for all of you : to either have or one day meet someone who "gets it" !! :oh: :io:

I know that the gf that I have gets it. Here dad raised her well, hell for the spring game she wanted to tailgate because it was "preseason" for the regular tailgating season. And I have a birthday coming up, I am pretty sure one of the items that I am getting from her is the nice fossil OSU watches that they have :)

I don't think understanding the passion is the key, simply recognizing it and understanding that it is a big part of one's life is all you need.

My wife is not into football at all, nor does she understand the passion I have for the game and especially the Buckeyes. However, she does know what I like and that Ohio State items make me happy; therefore, she is always getting me OSU gifts.

To some extent, I envy you guys. My wife calls me at work yesterday and the conversation goes something like this:

Her: "Do you have any plans for Saturday night?"
Me: "Uh........yeah."
Her: "Really?"
Me: "Ummmm......yes........why?"
Her: "Well, 'Brian' (our friend who is more than a bit light in the loafers) is having his housewarmng party and wanted us to come."
Me: "Nope."
Her: "Why not?"
Me: "There may be a football game on I am interested in watching."
Her: "Oh, is OSU playing?"
Me: "Yeah, I think so. :roll2:" (I don't think she heard me roll my eyes at her. It's probably for the best that she didn't.)
Her: "Oh, well. I can go by myself. At least I'll be out of the house."
Me: "You'd probably be better off."
Her: "Okay."

She copes pretty well with my passion and me, but she just desn't get it. The only reason she even cares if they win is because I'm a much nicer person if they do. At least she lets me watch the games. :)

"Understanding" the passion and "understanding" what someone else is passionate about are two different things.

For example, I understand that Thump is passionate about homos, but I do not understand the passion itself as I think it is sick. See the difference?

Dude, I saw that one coming from a mile away... however, that it was predictable does not mean it wasn't completely Hilarious... because.. it was.

Mrs. Bucky Katt's version:
Her: "Do you have any plans for Saturday night? (please god say yes)"
BK: "Uh........yeah."
Her: "Really? (SWEEEEEEET!)"
BK: "Ummmm......yes........why?"
Her: "Well, 'Brian' (our friend who pretends he's gay so BK doesn't catch on that we've been screwing around for years) is having his housewarmng party and wanted us to come."
BK: "Nope."
Her: "Why not? (:groove: )"
BK: "There may be a football game on I am interested in watching."
Her: "Oh, is OSU playing?"
BK: "Yeah, I think so. :roll2:" (He rolled his eyes, I could tell. It's ok, Brian will be rolling me soon enough.)
Her: "Oh, well. I can go by myself. At least I'll be out of the house. (and in the arms of a real man)"
BK: "You'd probably be better off."
Her: "Okay. (no shit, time to get the kneepads out)"

I really just appreciate being able to listen to the games and that my wife plans around it. Not being American, she doesn't really understand the importance of football to me (and let's be honest, lots of regions of America don't share our enthusiasm either), but she makes space so that I can enjoy the games.
