Will Boeckman be Benched?

Plain and simple: Will anyone other than Todd Boeckman start a game due to any reason other than Todd being physically unable to perform?

As promised, the odds are 10,000:1 for. The odds are 1:1 against, (rather than 1:10,000), because tying up your v$ until the end of the regular season is hard enough. You might as well be rewarded for your patience.

YOU MAY BET ONLY ONCE ON THIS EVENT

What is the ruling if he returns from injury and does not start but plays? Does that still fall under the injury umbrella?

It will have to be very clear that the reason he did not start had nothing to do with the injury. I can easily imagine that JT would leave it to your imagination. I recall when Mike T. returned from his injury he did not start the game. But he started every game thereafter.

That would be a fair test. If TB starts every game after the game of his return, then the non-starting in the previous game was injury related.

Also: If an injury hampers TB to the extent that someone else is a better option, then the injury is still the cause.

I personally think TB starts every game, but I put 100,000 on "not" cause the payout is enormous. :wink2:

Don't take this personally, but I personally hope like hell that this bet doesn't make you BP's first vBillionaire. The price may be one-crystal-football: a price that even you would rather not pay for your vBillion.

A word of caution to those considering going "all in" on this one. Your vCash is tied up till it is settled - and that may not be until November. (Unless it includes the Bowl - which should be clarified).

Don't make the same mistake I did with that bet on whether the expansion and contraction of the universe was cyclic.

Also: The payout date is shown at the top of the thread (November 23rd).

The payout on your other bet comes some time later.

So you are suggesting next time I should read the thread before I post?

But I really wanted to use that line about the Universe bet.

It's a pretty good line, so I understand. It's not exactly Observations-from-C-Deck worthy, but it's pretty good.

Too bad it will go over the heads of some of our members. Not, of course, because they lack the capacity to think in the abstract; but rather because it did not come directly from RR.

I doubt it... Cuz I think BB might make it there on his own soon enough. But then again I don't see a problem throwing a million down on it for myself

But then again BB can throw down $10 million cuz that is just pocket change for him.
