Why not? Not much left to prove at the college level and I doubt Duke is going to match that offer.

Has anybody been over to the Duke site to see how they are dealing with this? Imagine the chaos in Buckeyeland if JT were mulling over the Browns job this weekend.

I was just over at the Duke board and they are saying about 200 people showed up - including the Duke president, who apparently happens to be new. That could be a factor.

I think he's gone, and I'll be glad if he is. It's the perfect opportunity too. His roster is thin this year, so he's due to have back problems again.:roll2: Hopefully, Ratboy goes to LA, gets his ass handed to him, blames it all on Tim Duncan, and returns to the college ranks to coach at UNC. I hope he goes just so A-Shaq/Kobe, whomever is on the team will drive him completely insane, and B-so Duke can suck and all the Duke fans can bawl for the next 15 years as Roy and Gary Williams repeatedly serve them their asses on a platter

I think he turns it down.

K is pissed that he's losing players early and he's just trying to set an example for current and future Blue Devils that are considering going pro.

I can hear him already, "If I can turn down $40M to stay at Duke, so can you."

Please. Turn down $40M to make a point that no one is going to listen to anyway? He's 57 and will have $40M by the time he's 63. He's done right by Duke and this is the payoff. Not even a close call, IMHO.

He has a lifetime contract with Duke, right? That's got to be hard to walk away from, even if there's more money on the LAL side. Will be interesting to see what he does, I tend to think he stands pat.
