Wisconsin certainly with something to play for today. Because Purdue went 1-1 against Ohio State, a Wisconsin win today would give the Badgers the #2 seed in the tournament.

And if they lose they get 3rd place all to themselves. This of course would be an improvement on the past two years when they have finished 4th and 4th.

Oh well, you can't realistically expect to contend for yet another conference championship. Wisconsin has 3 in the last 52 years. Give someone else a turn.

I don't think there's much difference between playing the #6/#11 winner vs the #7/#10 winner in their first tourney game. And either way, it's quite likely that Purdue and Wisconsin will meet in the semifinals. Which color jersey they get to wear won't mean anything in that game.

But beating tOSU today could get Wisconsin a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, which is more meaningful in my book. Although it's possible that regardless of what happens today, the committee will give a #2 to whichever of Purdue-Wisconsin makes the BTT finals, and give a #3 seed to the other team.

I doubt that this will happen but it would be interesting to see if Matta puts Lighty on Jordan and moves Craft over to regard their small forward (Gossler). I know that both Craft and Lighty both have the same physical presence but with David having a little more height it might cause more problems for Jordan. However, saying that, I don't think it was the lack of physicality the last time we played :2004:Bucky but more of a problem with their high ball screens and our big guys not helping out probably as much as they should. Anyways, fuck Bucky

I imagine that dealing with the high screen has been worked on every day since the team got back from Madison. Craft is fine on Taylor, he just can't take on two players who can shoot from that spot. I would put Lighty on whoever is setting the screen (I expect them to run it with different looks this game), and he can switch to Taylor if need be.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sully playing a zone in the key. He could be more effective playing man, but it would make it easier for Lighty to switch based on situation. That said, we haven't seen it all season, so I doubt they'll start today.

However they try to neutralize the high screen, they can't allow Leuer to get open looks as a result. I don't expect Wisky to shoot like they did in the 2nd half last time, but they do pose the toughest matchups OSU has seen all season. Hopefully, the home crowd can provide the spark to end the regular season with a quality win.

Go Buckeyes!!!
