Wisdom Teeth?

yeah im getting mine taken out this thursday and im only 15. Since most of you are out of school you probably cant relate but right now, im on the wrestling team, and the last week is the next one with districts coming up on friday (8 days after). Now of course this "oral surgeon" (who just happens to only be available right now, or else ill have to wait a while) says that i cant do contact for like 2 weeks. I got a basketball game 2 days after.... not sure about that.... but i dont know how long it will take untill i can risk go getting banged around in wrestling...

also, that video that they showed me about the risks kinda creeped me out, specifically the part about if they hit a nerve, then my whole side of my face droops. im assuming this is pretty worst case scenario stuff but who the hell knows cus there is that chance.

dont forget to play hockey afterwards.

all 4 of my wisdom teeth were partially impacted in the bone and were coming in crooked. i was back to work in 3 days.dont sweat it.they will keep you comfortable for a few.

I had all 4 yanked last month. 3 of 4 were impacted. took a vicodin after and I was fine the rest of the day. just be careful what you eat at least until the stitches come out.

Being a dentist, I kind of chuckle a bit when reading some of these posts. Especially the one that said they "grew back" - this just can't happen. Obviously there can be some complications, and some cases might be worse than others, but as a rule, if you follow post-ops correctly -no problems. I'd probably recommend anesthesia (it adds to cost but is easier for both the surgeon and the patient). One person suggested to "just have them out" because they'rte just going to cause trouble later. Each situation should be evaluated on its own merit. Fewer 3rd molars being removed now than in the past-just because you have them doesn't mean they will absolutely need to be removed.
