COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) – will be the recipient of some of the proceeds from the first Ohio State Football Women’s Clinic.
“The effort that Chris Spielman continues to put forth on behalf of Stefanie and their breast cancer research funds at the James is truly astounding,” Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said. “It is an honor to be able to contribute proceeds from our first women’s clinic to help this incredibly important cause.”
Ohio State Athletics multi-media rights holder, Ohio State IMG Sports Marketing, expanded Kroger’s partnership with Ohio State by solidifying them as the Presenting Sponsor of the Inaugural Ohio State Football Women’s Clinic, which will take place Saturday, June 9, at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. As sponsors, IMG and The Kroger Company will also make a contribution to the Stefanie Spielman Fund in conjunction with this year’s event.
Representatives of the OSUCCC – James will be at the clinic and will talk about the importance of early screening and detection. The full day of activities will also include offensive, defensive and special teams talks, a talent show, live auction, stretching with strength and conditioning Coach Mickey Marotti, drills, relay races, shoulder pad races and tours of the football facilities.
