My point is that when I think of great basketball coaches in the college game and I think of John Wooden, Dean Smith, John Chaney, etc. I think of guys who are innovators and who have created something different for college basketball. Summit has had a head start on women's basketball and has maintained that. Just because she has the ability to work with a bunch of back stabbers and get along with women does not make her a great basketball coach. I wonder if she has ever been offered a big-time men's position to coach basketball. Men's basketball at Tennessee was down for many many years because of the women's program and I think that is one of the reasons she got to the top. You have your opinion and I have mine. They just differ:)
It may be an urban legend, but I remember hearing the UT DID offer her the head position for the men's team, but she declined.
