Worst Part of your Job?

Technical managers, who have no technical knowledge and promise the ass of they're people with constant "Oh, sure. We could have that done by the end of the week" whithout a clue of what "that" entails.

1. Incompetency reigns supreme in the management of the office. Secretaries have more clout than the professional staff, graduate assistants are considered the equals of full-time employees, the director is only interested in self-congratulation (remember, I work for the guy that gave himself an award), and the assistant director I report to has the clarity of mud.

2. Director is too territorial. Instead of looking for ways to collaborate with colleagues and other offices, he spends all of his time pissing around the place to mark his territory.

3. My professional opinion on educational issues are equal to jack squat.

4. Zero incentives are given to do anything beyond the absolute minimum; and if you do venture out with ideas you are considered a threat to the office (see complaint 2).

However, there is one big positive......................my last day is August 19!!!!

Anybody work for a place where people that screw up don't get fired, but moved to a better spot? I used to work for a place that was like that.

We called it - Fuck up and move up

1- going into a sewer manhole to fix a problem and there are thousands of cockroaches in there and they get all over you and you end up smelling like shit for the rest of the day.2-fixing a broken water service when its 30-35 degrees outside and water is spraying all over you and the boss wont let you go home and change clothes when your done. 3- trying to explain to other employees who do not speak english what needs to be done.

2. The Drive to Pay Ratio, i drive 56 miles one way, and with the little amount that i get paid, i could afford to take a 8% paycut to get a job in close to home (cost of gas, oil changes, tires, ect).
Holy crap, Brutus! Do you work in downtown Cleveland?

I'd say in general, I have a pretty sweet job. The TPS reports piss me off though.

Actually, I'd say that the worst part of my job is the slackers. It's the old 20% of the people do 80% of the work. I mean, seriously, GET OFF OF YOUR LAZY ASS AND EARN YOUR FUCKING PAYCHECK FOR ONCE! Sorry.... (deep breath). The kick in the groin is the merit system breeds this behavior. An excellent, top-notch performer takes home about 2-3% more in his/her annual raise than the average, just-getting-by lump of lazy flesh.

Let's say the salary is $50,000 (easy math and close to the average in my department). The guy who busts his ass all year gets a whopping $1,000 more a year than the lazy jerk. And this is before taxes....so let's make it an extra $700 a year in spending money. Or, a whole $58 a month. Yippie-fucking-yay! Go ahead a take you wife out to dinner once. Thanks for your hard work, you gullible sucker.

Okay, now I'm pissed. Thanks Brutus. I'm going to go find a cat that I can kick.

Everything is fantastic with my current job, I'm retired!!!

The only thing bad about the job that I had for 33 years was that I had to wait until I was 55 to retire.
Ohhhh, cry me a river! No sympathy here, ScriptOhio. Next thing you're going to tell me is the country club you joined just raised the price of beer by a nickel. Booo hoooo!

I worked and lived (well the valley) in fairlawn for a little while... really liked that area. Good old Sterling :)

Thing I hate about my job... hmm... I acutally hate everything for the most part about living down here but my job...

I don't like my boss, get along with him, but can't stand him... the job itself though, is great.
