He added to his highlight reel with his first touchdown run in the second half.

Miller pulled the ball back just as teammate Carlos Hyde was engulfed by Penn State's Sean Stanley, did a two-step -- one forward and jump back -- to allude a defender, and then dived past another into the end zone.

"I think a guy just came in and tried to tackle Carlos and I pulled it," Miller said. "I don't know who was around my. My instincts just took over after that."

Officially, the play covered a yard, and it made the score 21-10 Ohio State with 3:30 left in the third quarter.

"We work on that," coach Urban Meyer said with a slight grin. "We have a drill. Make seven people miss and dive across.

"All I heard in my headset was 'Oh my God!"

Eh, I thought it was a hold. Clearly grabbed the jersey, and when the defender turned around didn't let go.

Regardless, that was gonna be a TD. Braxton would not be denied.

Seriously this kid has an unbelievable ability to play poorly, then turn it around and dominate.

He made terrible, and I mean terrible throws in the first half, poor reads...then bam! turns it around in the second half. His mental toughness has to be second to none on this team. I can't wait to see him grow over the next 2 seasons.

+1... But I agree, who cares... Well, besides a PSU fan.

I actually never noticed the hold, until the 12th time watching the clip on this thread.

Truly, there's a hold on every play... But rarely does one this blatant, in the backfield, right beside the QB who still has the ball, get missed... But again, there are missed calls in every game.

Well, to defend the refs (yes i just typed that), they were probably all busy staring at Braxton's video game moves on that play...hard to watch an O lineman holding when you can be watching that. :biggrin:

And see how Hyde got destroyed by the DE, it was kinda hard to take your eyes off of that and see other parts of the play. Hell it fooled nearly everyone but Braxton and Hyde.

From the Purdue game thread ... judging from the number of times that Braxton slid and headed out of bounds against Penn State, it looks like someone on the coaching staff delivered this message to him.

Yeah, it was good to see him slide or run oob a few times when it was obvious he was about to get gang tackled without gaining more than 1 more yard. Saved him a lot of punishment.
